good morning, lantus-landers... hope everyone had a restful night.

trying to dial binks back just a little on shot time...so we shot 10 mins early this morning. 1st meal scarfed down...morning LB visit finished, now he's looking for his toys. he's obviously feeling good this morning, and anxious to find out what his buddies have planned for the day.

oh, Sienne...you had already earned your place in his list of "revered ones", but now your status has gone up to "hallowed beings"! we'll be ordering some 2day, cuz he'll never forgive me if i don't. we found a wonderful holistic cat products store here in town when we were looking for the right cat food...maybe they've got them on hand.

this is odd...binks woke up in a great mood this morning but now he's off in the corner sniffling and muttering. all i can make out is something bout shadow and the gang and how he's gonna be outta the club. wonder what he's carrying on about?

i've noticed that play sessions tend to lower his numbers...apparently sob sessions have the same effect!

Binks! Binks! Don't worry it wasn't the joke (actually pretty funny, but 'nuf said, don't get yourself in trouble). It's all OK now, his mom thought they were messy house guests, but it's all cleared up. They're free kitties! -- Tess

woo hoo!!! the methyl b12 capsules just arrived! We don't see his vet until Monday 9/13, so now i'm looking for some guidance (arent i always)
on dose size. Binks ideal weight is 9 lbs...he's currently at 9.5 lbs. i'm feeding him roughly 2 6oz cans of LC daily (including the treats for bg testing) the methyl b12 is NSi brand 500mcg capsules. I dont want to wait until monday to start, and know lot of folks use this...so ws looking for info on how much to start him on. best i've gathered so far was 3-5 mg...and i'm a dunce, so have no idea what that translates to. also...how often during the day?

he has only had stomach problems once since starting Lantus, and that im sure was due to switchin him from friskies to wellness too quickly.
was over with in 2 hrs.

It really doesn't matter. I would split a capsule between either the AM or PM mini-meals. B-12 is a water soluble vitamin. What the body doesn't use is excreted.

i'm the ?? queen today...cant find the post where Sienne talked about shot timing. i remember 15 mins one way of the other, but cant remember whether that was per cycle or per day.

trying to work binks back to 6a/6p from the stall the other day, and dialed him back ten mins this am.

....You need to move shot times gradually.
Remember, an early shot is like a dose increase. Generally, you can move times by as much as 15 min. per cycle or 30 min. per day.
If you're nervous about Achilles dropping too low, I'd move the time by 15 min. at the PMPS so you're there to monitor.
Moving by 15 min. should have a negligible effect. Or move the 30 min. tonight. I wouldn't try moving an entire hour.

thanks ronnie...that was the one.

been switching the Adoptocats to wet food...they didn't so much transition as jumped ship. poor little tortie girls have just been maintained so long that now every bit of attn is heaven to them...

but last night they ignored canned food, and this am were indifferent. I wondered until i mowed lawn...Annie caught a squirrel yesterday and they both have been feeding on it. talk about the raw diet. checked her for hunting wounds, none found, and chucked their stashed kill..they're fortunately too grateful for a loving home to be miffed about it.

smooth surfing, and methyl B12...our day is complete!

and now to our new fav- Reality PC!! who needs scripted "reality tv" when you've got cats who surf, swim, dive and bounce, cats who keep the beans on the edge of sanity (and then kindly bring them back)...and cats who dance and grill? and if that doesnt blow your skirts up, stop in for a look at Siennes Guide to Sniper Techniques for #'s <60!! The marines are gonna be looking at it to train their folk how to shoot under pressure!
