Alphyne is back up to 404 this morning. I am just at a loss why she is staying in such high numbers. It's like the insulin isn't working at all. Her numbers are higher than when we started. I wouldn't think she'd be bouncing from 2 days ago?

I've ordered a new bottle of insulin, just in case, although the current bottle looks (and smells) fine.

I'll be in contact with the vet tomorrow (she only works W-F), to talk about looking for underlying causes (again) and the items that Wendy&Neko brought to my attention.

I might just have to face the fact that insulin isn't going to work for my girl. :(

I hope everyone else has a great day! Give your fur babies lots of love!

Hi Bobbi :bighug::bighug::bighug: I can totally understand your frustration but Alphyne saw some beautiful blues the other day so I doubt it's the insulin - and yes she could still be bouncing from them still - they take up to 6 cycles to clear.

I briefly read your previous condo and see you got lots of good recommendations; I can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but I use dried egg yolk for my civvie for his hairballs (I used it with my sugar cat Jax too); could be worth trying - you can make your own or buy a bag from food fur life - more info here - that link includes a link to making your own as well as buying. When my civvie doesn't have his egg yolk, he'll have a hairball within a couple a day or two :rolleyes:

Hang in there :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you! It was just weird, because usually she bounces into the 400s right away. Yesterday she stayed in the 300s all day, and then bounced up to 400 this morning. So odd!

Luckily, I needed to order insulin anyway, since Mark's Marine said it's taking a while for shipment. At least I know I won't run out!:cool:

Her +2 today was 307, so that's a big drop... I think I'm going to have an active morning! LOL!

Thanks also for the egg whites idea! I will definitely check in to that!! :bighug:

She fooled us all...dropped to a 59 at PMPS +3 (roughly)!! She likes to meow at me for food when her sugar is low...smart girl.

She definitely didn't want an increase...she was gunning for a decrease! Sneaky! ;)
