Good Labor Day Morning, Everyone,
Lots of rain last night and still rainy this morning with thunderstorms predicted (all caused by the hurricane that is still down south). The Labor Day paddle looks increasingly iffy (but the potluck will go on).
I took Rusty's dose up by .25 to 1.25 as suggested by Sienne and Libby. We'll see what happens. I am a bit concerned about the crystals and "amorphous debris" found in his urine, and the borderline Ph. The vet thinks he might have a stone and is going to take an x ray of his bladder next Monday (when we take him in for his dental). She said that the blood in his urine (found during the urinalysis) was probably owing to the cystocentesis. I've been reading about urinary-tract blockages and now am worrying. (One of the reasons I'm a medical "idiot" is because if I learn of a symptom, I worry!! Therefore, I try not to learn too much about medical problems!) Anyway, it seems logical to me that even though no bacteria were found in his urine sample, the presence of crystals and "debris" could indicate a problem that might be reflected in the higher bg levels he has had recently. Anyone have thoughts/experience with something like this?
Rusty had a good night, good shot (I think), good appetite (2 sittings of breakfast), and now is having a good sleep on the couch. It is dark, murky, rainy, "hurricane" weather.
Healing vines and good thoughts to all sick kitties,
Everyone have a good day,
Ella & Rusty
