Re: 9/30 Apollo AMPS 301, +3 334, +6 363
Hi John,
I just read your yesterday's condo and want to reassure you that things will get so much better. Apollo's body will begin to adjust to Lantus and you will find the right dose(s) as you go along. There are so many variables and it is easy to get discouraged, but as Lisa (Do Lou) remarked in Rusty's condo the other day: "the biggest variable in FD is FD itself" (paraphrased).
We all know what it feels like to suddenly have constrictions placed on our lives. But we also know that we love our kitties and we want to do what is best for them. You are doing so well in such a short time. FD can be a real roller coaster in the beginning of treatment, but it is much better to test and gather the data that will empower you to deal with FD than to blindly follow what a vet says. I shot my GA kitty, Stu, blind for 4 years. I knew nothing. Finding this board literally saved his life and gave him many months of better quality of life.
You and Apollo are on the right track. You will find that there are all sorts of ways to arrange a trip, or to go out for evenings. It just takes a little planning ahead.
Carry on!
Ella & Rusty
