Do cats get ravenous when their blood glucose goes up quickly during a bounce? Moonie woke me at 130am (+7.5) and 5am (+11). Both times she was ravenous - I tested because I was worried about her being too low, but her blood glucose was already on its way up. In fact, her blood glucose at +11 was 212 but she ate double her normal breakfast, and that was with her also eating a similar amount at +7.5!

Thanks to naughty Moon Moon, I did not sleep very much last night. Oh well. Such is the life of a cat servant.

Interesting that she was so ravenous. Probably extreme changes in glucose causes this situation.
She is really a good communicator, isn’t she?

Sorry to hear Moonie is still bouncing and you did not get a lot of sleep. I'm glad you can do home office today
Regs get ravenous when his sugars are getting low. Maybe it is a fast drop or raise that makes them hungry.

I still thinks it's amazing that she lets you know when her glucose is getting low, that is the best warning sign for you.

Moon Moon isn’t sure why human servant is complaining since they could “take a nap too.” She’s turning me as crepuscular as she is

Thanks Britta! I’m starting to think it’s a fast drop and fast raise that causes the hunger. I’ve noticed that she’s always hungry on the first cycle of a bounce but today was the first time she was so ravenous. I guess we’ll see.

I feel very lucky that Moon Moon is such a smart communicative girl, though sometimes I wonder if she’s learned that a certain meow at night is the fastest way to get food

Good to know! I feel like Moonie is always bouncing so she’s always too high or too low and therefore always ravenous
