Hey I know I should post my last thread but I'm panicking a bit.

Just got home from work he skipped his last two meals in the feeder I tried to entice him to eat he wouldnt he vomited a little bile. I checked him and bg is 280. I am sure it's due to not eating I just checked him a like a week agonhe was 91.

What do I do...regular vet is closed he went to litterbox but did nothing just now. He is just standing at my feet. Now he is slightly whining.

Poor baby. Poor you! Did he use the box while you were at work? Was he acting normal this morning?

Yes he pooed right before I left and he peed for sure while I was gone.

He seemed normal to me. Ate breakfast fine acted fine slept with me overnight woke me up overnight for pets and of course snacks.

Question is did something happen while I was gone or he was low level not feeling well for awhile and it just hit him

I’m glad he used the box. I always worry because Max blocked when he was about 5. Do you have any baby food or anything he especially likes to see if he will eat a little? With his bg green at your last check on 9/16 maybe just has an upset tummy. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Little Man blocked twice at 6 and again at 9 years so it's always on my mind.

As far as food I already tried some favorites. A favorite canned that I keep on hand and also I tried a small piece of strawberry. He has been obsessed with them since a kitten. We didn't let him eat them but he would maul you for them. He wasn't interested

Should I let this ride out tonight and if still not I terested in food or water vet in morning or should we go to emergency...I ask knowing er will be really expensive and stressful for us both

Thankfully we can eliminate that. Ha everything been normal until tonight?
Yep normal till I got home. Every once in awhile we have a hairball vomit. And since remission he has held weight at about 11 to 12 lbs which is way less than he used to be. But old age plus he eats raw so he slimmed down. Every bg check I've done is normal since as well.

I’d ride it out as long as nothing else happens. Do you have anything for nausea?
Nothing for nausea we really never needed it since his diagnosis of diabetes. Never had pancreatitis or anything like that. I guess if he is just sleeping/resting and not howling in any pain we will sit tight and hopefully make it to morning

Sometimes whatever is bothering them goes away as quick as it comes on. I hope that’s the case. I saw your ss and can’t imagine he’s out of remission. How long since he’s seen the vet?

Saw the vet in May clean bill of health...was told and I quote "for an old man he is doing really well" .mainly cause I had been concerned with weight loss.

Does he have any history of constipation? That can sometimes cause vomiting, loss of appetite, and higher BG.

In a pinch you can get Pepcid A/C (famotidine 10mg) over the counter and give 1/4 tablet. It’s somewhat fallen out of favor in lieu of ondansetron and other meds, but it’s readily available at most stores. Just make sure it’s NOT Pepcid Complete. I’ve always had good luck with it.

No constipation we had a little when we had started raw long time ago but he gets psyllium husk powder each day. Had a normal bm this morning before I left for work.

Thanks for the advice on pepcid ac great advice to know.

Maybe progress...he just ate the smallest bit of food half tsp....really high carb food but food with added water and now he is drinking water. It's civvies kidney diet I usually have to separate them so he doesn't eat her food. Fed her a snack and got interested so I gave just to see if he'd eat

I can’t think of any thing else except maybe test for ketones if you have some Ketostix. Always good to eliminate. I’d also repeat the BG to see how it’s going. I’d offer whatever he will eat. Eating trumps everything. does he like cooked egg? Or cheese?

Just tried a little more food he took a little His bg is at 218 so down from a few hours ago.

He is drinking a lot of water and earlier it caused him to vomit again empty stomach I'm guessing
