I think last night was our worst night since this whole FD dance started two years ago. Walter dropped early in the cycle and then he refused to eat. Walter, the cat that has been a proud member of the CPC since the day I took him home. The cat that will eat just about anything and at any point through the cycle. To make matters worse, he didn't want me trying to rub anything on his gums either. Or stick a finger in his mouth (in all fairness, he has always been terrible about oral meds, so that part didn't really surprise me).

He ended up spending 2 terrifying hours in the 30s before he finally decided that he could lick some gravy off of the food. And then he started eating just fine.

This morning's bounce wasn't really much of a surprise - but the drop by +3 is. I had to leave for an appointment right after his AM shot and I am only home for 1.5 hours at the moment and then I have to run back to campus. Luckily, he just ate his LC snack just fine and I will test again before I leave.

Mandarin is still flat yellow... so the synchronized cycles are officially done. Very glad that he didn't dive at the same time last night. I think I would have lost it completely.

Iris is still about the same - but she actually ate much better with the HC food last night. So I will keep trying that for her. It's not like she has to watch her carbs.

And the bean is exhausted... really exhausted. Let's hope our meetings this afternoon go quickly - I don't even know if I can keep my eyes open.

sending prayers....I am so sorry you had such a difficult night.

Dre sometimes will not eat either--my vet gave me a bag of fluids with dex for a "just in case" moment-he mixed it so it wasn't too much.
I am glad Iris ate better--do you ever use essential oils? maybe a diffuser ?
I know it won't heal it but might help her breathe?
bug hugs:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm sorry you had a rough night. I'm glad Walter finally came up and started eating for you. I hope he surfs safely today. I hope you can get some sleep this weekend. Sending prayers for Iris.

That is always my fear with Doodles...will he eat when I need him too. Knock on wood he's been good about it recently otherwise I have the syringe ready to go. Walter, please buddy, go easy next time. Glad Iris seems to be doing better....if HC does the trick so be it. Hope you can get some rest soon Christina. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Walter....you trying to give your Mama bean a heart attack or something? No need for such drama!
I hope they surf safely for you today and tonight Christina so that you can get some sleep. Happy to hear that wee Iris is eating better.

It just seems impossible some days. When this happens to me, I try to remind myself that this day, too, will be over, and sleep will come, and life will seem doable again. Sometimes this works. When it doesn't, I remind myself that it sometimes works - for some reason that helps. Dunno why, maybe it's the power of hope.
Hugs and purrs that you "intelligently" survive the meetings. As others have said, great that lil Iris is eating better.
Hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Unfortunately, I know the "I'm in a hypo but I refuse to eat anything" act all too well - it is terrifying
I am exhausted just reading what is happening at Chez Christina :bighug::bighug::bighug:
