Roo seems to be doing okay on the new dose, no yellows since that bounce after the lime! Hoping for a green sometime soon
Now that Roo is getting better and regulated, I wanted to ask about my feeding schedule and amount. I used to feed him much more when he was in the pinks, over 3 cans per day, but now that we're in mostly blues I've been lowering him down to what his healthy calorie intake would be (200 for a 10lb cat said the vet) since I did notice him gaining some weight since his last vet visit in July when he was at optimal weight.
So I currently feed 0.5 cans FF at shot time, and then 0.25 cans at each +4 and +8 for a total of 2 cans FF a day, 96 calories each, spread out over 6 meals. In addition, he gets some Purebites chicken at test times and random other times when I'm home.
Is this enough food and a good schedule for him? I do want to make sure I'm feeding enough but not too much to where he gets too chunky either. He definitely has stopped begging for food every time I go in the kitchen (just half the times now
) and doesn't scarf like he used to when unregulated, but has always been food motivated so I'm not sure what part of that was the diabetes vs. him just loving to eat lol
Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated
