Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty had a good night (partying, and sleeping). But the morning so far has been not so great. I think I gave a fur shot this morning, but the vetty smell obscured it, so I don't know for sure. (He complained loudly and pulled away just as I was shooting.) It's typical that I should give a fur shot just when it matters most not to give one! We tried to put the dental rinse on his gums this morning, but he would have none of it. I don't know if we'll make another attempt. He doesn't seem to have any problems eating! Edward, who stepped on his tail last night because he can't see very well, almost stepped on Rusty again this morning, and now Rusty is hiding under the futon (where he never goes) from the dental rinse and Edward! I feel terrible about the whole morning.
I have to leave now to take my car in for servicing. If I don't get back by lunchtime, Edward will give Rusty his lunch. It's too early for a test (it would be too depressing to see a higher number than AMPS!), so we will see later whether or not any of the insulin got in.

Thank you all for your support yesterday. We are so lucky that Rusty didn't have to have any teeth pulled and that he doesn't have bladder stones.

Everyone have a good day today. We send good thoughts to all kitties not feeling well.

Hi Kitties. That was a great Full Harvest Moon party! It was purrfect. Thanks for all the treats and the KTSS treatment (it's beginning to work), and thanks to Chef Mannie for the wonderful idea to prepare the menu he and Chef Stu prepared for this party last year. That meant a lot to my mamabean. See you all later. Let's chillax!

Glad the vet visit gave you lots of good news. Booo on the possible fur shot. Hopefully most of it got in. Have a wonderful day Ella!!

Hey Rusty! Had so much fun last night. Hope the rest of the vetty smell goes away soon. The menu was perfect and Stu would have loved it. Hugs to you and your momma bean. - Tarragon

http://www.amazon.com/Virbac-Aquadent-Drinking-Additive-Maintain/dp/B005BMWS8O Hi Ella and Rusty hope he comes down soon and he is getting over his vet visit their are several brands of rinse additive to put in the cats water you can ask your vet about these if their really think he needs a rinse for gingivitis most cats just hate the rinse you put right in their mouth I sometimes think the vet forgets how cats really are when they prescribe this you know   anyway I also want to thank you for not sure what condo you mentioned it in ( it was someone new) about the freestyle lite meter with 200 strips it by far is the best buy on ADW I had been buying 2 boxes of 50 but this is a better buy so Do Lou and I are thanking you!

Re: 9/13 Rusty AMPS 226

oh wow - what a morning for you! I hope it wasn't a fur shot... paws crossed. And poor Edward - I bet he feels bad for stepping on Rusty. The day can only get better, right?

I know on the dental rinse for the mouth. I have tried that too, and Mannie would have nothing to do with it. I have seriously considered brushing, but just don't know that Mannie would let me do that either. No one messes with his mouth. His dental is next Tuesday... aiyyeeeeee.

Good luck with your car service - hope that goes well.

Rusty! DUDE - man I think you need a chillaxin' day. I'll come and picks you up - we can go and relax by a pool or sumthin'. See you soon !!~ Mannie

Poor Rusty.....and poor Edward. It happens sometimes though  Hopefully you didn't give a fur shot this morning.

Have a great day Ella and Rusty.

Re: 9/13 Rusty AMPS 226, +5.5 151

Hi again, It looks as if some of the insulin got in! Rusty has forgiven us. The vet's office called to see how he is doing (when they called he was playing with his "Red Ears" mouse with Edward, the forgiven one). They were happy to hear that he is doing fine. I told them about the dental rinse and they said that we didn't have to use it! Thanks, Lisa, for the link to the water treatment additive. If Rusty drank water out of his bowls and fountain I would consider something like this, but he hardly ever drinks water. (Last night he drank more than I have seen him consume in the entire time he's been with us!)

Got to take my car back now to have the wheels torqued. BBL.

Re: 9/13 Rusty AMPS 226, +5.5 151

I like that +5.5, looks like no fur shot! :-D keep coming down to your good numbers now Rusty.

Good new from the vet on all counts. I'm glad she isn't worried about the crystals. When Tess had a UTI at Christmas time the ER vet recommended Cosequin as it is not only for joints, but aids w/ bladder irritation. There were no crystal mentioned at the time, but Tess had had them years ago at the time of the last UTI.

yay! looks like he got some insulin after all!

great news on the vetty report, and glad all is forgiven round the house...

Re: 9/13 Rusty AMPS 226, +5.5 151, +9.5 105

Thanks guys! Now it's really beginning to look like it wasn't a fur shot this morning. We just had a nice hour outdoors. The wind is really strong (30 mph) this afternoon and Rusty enjoyed having his fur blown in the wind (blows off the vetty smell, too). He sat with us, rubbed us with his head, crawled into my lap, and was just so loving. I guess he forgives us for yesterday's ordeal! He is certainly feeling lots better. He just had his +9.5 snack of a few small chunks of canned chicken breast in water (people food, from the health-food store: the easy way to make tacos). I add extra water to cut the salt, even though it isn't too salty to begin with.

Fingers and paws crossed that I don't do a fur shot tonight!!

Re: 9/13 Rusty AMPS 226, +5.5 151, +9.5 105, PMPS 105

Rusty is doing great, and it looks like you did a good shot. They do get over things so quickly, even a stepped on tail. Have a good night.

Hi again,
We are having a series of violent thunderstorms. I've had to turn off my computer. At one point the whole house shook from the thunder! Rusty was attentive, but fine through it all. Another storm is coming as I type.
I think we had a good shot tonight. Rusty enjoyed dinner and his bedtime snacks. I think he feels much better with his clean teeth!
