Good Morning, Everyone,
WCR: Stu had one of his famous drops at +2.5 so I fed him some 8%. (Are you watching, Tess?) He's not too hungry this morning, but has eaten 3 small installments of breakfast and has gone outside to look for the chipmunk (he walked on top of the entire length of a stone garden wall, looking in every crack). Litterbox has received one of its contributions and we are waiting for the other. Not interested in playing indoors (the chipmunk is more interesting; but of course Chip-chip is laying low).
Today is the finish of the 90-mile canoe race. Weather is not ideal: cold, cloudy, windy, with rain on the way for the afternoon. I sure hope our friends will do OK. Yesterday the guy we are pit-crewing for and another friend, who is doing her first 90 miler, just made the cut-off time (by 4 minutes) and were allowed to finish the day's segment of the race!! (Our guy, who is doing his 14th 90-miler, stayed with our other friend to provide encouragement.) Today's segment has 3 large lakes to cross, 1 smaller lake, and 1 river and it could be tricky with a south wind. But there are only a few short portages (two of them around locks; the paddlers in the race are not allowed to use the locks). We'll be heading over to the finish line in a couple of hours to watch the first boats come in and then to wait a few more hours for our friends to come in.
Hope everyone has a good day and sending lots of snowflakes to Kasha and Tori today.
