The Connick thing is still an issue. He can stand the sight of her now. But still wont get near her. Garland doesnt hiss at him, so obviously she knows who he is bc she is usually the one who would usually get all bent out of shape w a new kitty. But Connick (im guessing) still thinks Ive brought a new cat home instead of knowing this is his littermate for the last 12 years. Im hoping once the tube comes out and I can give them both really good baths, that it will solve the problem. If that doesnt work, then im going to get some of those plug in thinga-ma-gigs. Im sad they are like this. Im so used to them being each others snuggle buddies, support, company when Im gone, friends... they would lick each others faces and play together. sigh...
Have you tried swapping their bedding to exchange scents? Maybe rub her down with a towel and place it in Connick's sleeping area?
Could you try feeding Connick in sight of Garland, and very gradually moving his dish closer to her?
I am sure that you have your hands full, but as she recovers, you may have to do a bit of work re-introducing them to each other. Tena and Curry did some gradual, but very successful, work with getting her two kitties back together after some aggression between them. Whe the time comes, you might contact her and get some pointers.
