Bear Man is doing much better this week. He had a rough couple of weeks and had pretty much stopped eating, so he spent the long weekend on injected steroids, Bupe, and Cerenia. On Monday night I came home from an airshow and he was chowing down on his own on a bowl of his renal kibble. He has been accepting the odd nibble of canned FF as well. His appetite is back to around 80% of normal. It must have been a bad CP/IBD flare, and it seems to be behind us. WCF pointed out that I should probably be increasing his phosphorus binder dosage, but I want to make sure that his tummy is very stable before I do that.
At his weekly vet visit, his PCV was down to .24, so he got a shot of Aranesp for his anemia. It looks like he can go three to four weeks between shots. Now that he is eating again, his BG numbers are back in the yellows, and have I added a drop to his dose. I'm just so happy to see him eat, and to see him come back from another setback, like the Energizer Bunny/Bear.
The other big news is that we finally got a nanner. Three out of four kitties recommend the nanner. Bear Man is not one of them.
The crockpot experiment went well last week. It's like magic. You put meat and potatoes in, and stew comes out. I'm not pushing my culinary luck, however. Tonight, it's back to take out Thai food.
