Well, that's a surprise. It looks like maybe her pancreas is joining the party tonight and keeping the numbers steady longer than we would expect. She is in safe numbers and we wouldn't expect her to drop low. But I would keep testing.

Glad you didn't increase.

OMG, yes!!! When she tested at 93 I was going to repost to my other thread and THANK you guys for suggesting that I not. We would be in a lot of trouble if I had! So thank you!

When do you think I should test again? 15 minutes? 30 minutes?

I wouldnt over do it, so in about a halfo an hour I would retest to see what is happening
hopefully nothing but good stuff!

OK, 9+ - 97.

So it seems to be going back up. I was thinking maybe one more test and if she's over 100, that would be it until the AMPS at midnight. Or should I keep monitoring? Speaking of the AMPS, I have absolutely NO idea what I should give her. Keeping with the 1.5 seems scary, but at the same time, I don't want to stall any progress.

I don't think I would do 1.5. You got a really steep drop with it. Not hypo numbers but a crash. And I am wondering if today's cycle reflected the antibiotic being gone. Depending on the amps, maybe cut it by a .2? And leave some food out? What do you think?

Yeah, 1.5 just seems like too much. I was wondering if I should go back to the 1.25 or just 1. I guess it partially depends on the PS, huh? I use the U40 syringes, so I can't measure it small increments like .2, .3, etc. When I do 1.25, I'm really just estimating. Maybe I should get the U100 syringes?

Currently, I have been feeding her the wet portion of her food right before her insulin and the dry part about an hour after. (Still working on going all wet.) I think part of the drop today was that my husband didn't make sure she ate all of her dry. It looked to me like she ate 1/3 of it. She ate the rest at about 4+. So maybe the insulin got ahead of the food? I dunno. But I could definitely leave a little extra food out tonight.

Well, that probably means if you could get rid of the dry completely, you would definitely need U100 needles! Is she not eating enough without it? If you just put out wet, wouldn't she eventually give up and eat it only?

Do you think it would decrease pretty dramatically with all wet? I know it's supposed to, be the dry she eats is the EVO, which is pretty low carb. She only eats about 1/8 of a cup per day, which I think would only be about 2 carbs. But maybe just the fact that it's dry keeps her numbers higher. I'm not sure.

She's funny with wet food. She used to not like it at all. Now she does, but she gets tired of it quickly. I'll put out 1 oz. and she'll eat the first 2/3 well, but the second 1/3 of it I will literally have to hold the plate under her face while she licks it. It's kind of funny. I guess I am a little afraid she won't eat enough of the wet at one time. Or that I'll leave it out and she won't eat it.

But regardless of these hesitations, my goal is to get her on all wet. I was thinking of up it from 50% wet this weekend to 75%. Since I'll be around, I think it would be the best time to do it.

Yes, it will drop dramatically if you switch to all wet. Evo, does make some of the lowest carb dry food, but I still think it is about 18 precent carb. The FF classics that I feed are all less than 4 percent carbs. If you switch to all wet, you need to be prepared to drop your insulin dose-- it is a balancing act--carbs eaten and insulin. I would switch very slowly (mix the dry and wet) and be prepared to test throughout the cycles.

Have you read Smokey's recent thread regarding diet change? If not, you might find it informative.

Good Luck!

kse - thanks for that info! I wouldn't have guessed that it would drop a lot, since I thought Evo was fairly low carb. Although, it sounds like it's a bit higher in carbs than I realized. Yeah, I definitely plan to switch slowly. Do you think switching from 50% dry to 25% dry would be too drastic of a switch?

I will definitely check out Smokey's thread!
