Cosmo is doing good! Refilling the depot after our fur shot the other day

We are starting to pack and the boxes are a hit with the boys  Cosmo has been through this before, but first time for our baby Jasper. The move itself is at the end of the month, where it will be about a 4 hour trip including the drive to the ferry terminal, then ferrying over to the island and a short drive to the hotel. We are staying in the hotel for 2 nights before taking possession of our new place :) Cosmo wasn’t diabetic on our last roadtrip, so this one will be interesting  He doesn’t mind car rides, but dislikes hotels a lot. I assume we should do something like a vacation dose? He is on 2 units right now, and unregulated :banghead:, so we will need to be careful of his tendency to dive. The stress factor should be interesting to see what that does for his BG over the course of a few days.

We have time to figure it out, so we are trying to put some thought into it now :)

As I'm sure you know, it all depends on his numbers closer to your adventure...FWIW, when we traveled with Jax (usual trip was 4 hours to our place at the beach), I never adjusted his dose as I was able to test and feed him. Jax's BG would rise a bit in the car but then I started giving him a wee bit of gaba - w/ discussion w/ my vet - and then he just stayed pretty flat...ECID of course. So if you are able to test and feed then you don't necessarily have to adjust his dose (I kept his insulin and food buffet in a lunch cooler and kept honey in a pocket on the side with his BG monitor and strips).

lol. a cat's favorite toy! they must be heaven :cat::cat:

Hope you're having a good weekend, Tanya :bighug:
