Happy Friday!

We accidentally bought a can of higher carb Fancy Feast (grilled tender beef & liver with gravy) and Brian gave some to Fritz (civvie) last night. Not naming any names, but someone (not me, haha) didn't pick the bowl up afterwards (and I didn't know it was different food) and there was still a little left. When we took last night's +3, it seemed pretty apparent that Johnny ate some of it. I think it was ~18% carb. It happens, I guess, but I'm disappointed after that nice green surf yesterday. Moving forward...

He did enjoy it! He was running around until the wee hours like he was on kitty crack. Meow! Chase a toy. Meow! Ask for something to be thrown to him. It was kind of cute, but amazing what it did to him. His own personal farewell to carbs party.

I hope he comes back down tomorrow!

I guess we'll find out if his pancreas is strong enough to handle HC food. I'm glad he enjoyed it, though!

Sherry, it was funny. Glad it translated so you could enjoy the "picture." :)

Libby, I was thinking of shooting him tonight to help with the carb processing. I know we had decided 200+, but it's a different situation. I feel like the good of the insulin was sucked into a carb vacuum. Maybe if he's still in this ballpark, should we shoot tomorrow? Or even tonight (if you think the situation warrants it).

it's up to you, Janice. It's a lot to ask of a sputtering pancreas to take care of a HC meal, but then again, Johnny's pancreas is pretty darn strong when it decides to work. If he's in this range in the morning then I would probably give him some help. You would have to monitor if you shoot, so I don't know if tonight is a good idea just because it's already getting late.

Thanks, Libby. To decide whether or not to give a drop tonight, we just tested. He's 134 at +1.5 and eaten recently. I think we'll wait for tomorrow and shoot if he's still in this range. We'll be around to monitor. I just hate to think of his little pancreas being overwhelmed. :(

I hate to hope that he's in this range tomorrow a.m., but I kind of do. I'd like to give Mr. Pancreas a little rest and recovery time after this workout.
 
76 at +4. Glad to see this nice drop! And shocked. Good job, pancreas! We're waiting in the wings if you need more help...
