Hi Everyone,
We were so exhausted last night that I didn't get to many condos. I hope to remedy that over the course of today. Rusty had a good night. We all slept soundly after the excitement of the family weekend (when we never got to bed before 1 A.M. and then, of course, had to get up at 6 A.M. for AMPS, etc. etc.). He has a pretty good AMPS this morning. (It is nighttime-food influenced.) The shot this morning was a "blood" shot (I nicked a capillary), but I think most of it got in. Rusty ate about half of his "lung treat" and we are about to have a combing and the second sitting of breakfast. It's a beautiful sunny day (so far!) and I have to get out to the post office (and later, a bike ride). I really feel the lack of exercise (cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry don't count as exercise  ). Rusty spent a lot of time outdoors over the weekend. He is very good and always stays near the back stoop, where he can hide behind the roof posts and stalk the chipmunks and squirrels.
Our weekend was GREAT! My 90-year-old brother looks good and is very sharp but doesn't walk as well as he used to. My 86-year-old sister is just fine (next week she's coming down to camp to do some paddling with us). It was fun seeing nieces (2 of them plus a niece-in-law) and nephews (2 of them). We all had a great time looking at old photo albums and reading my mother's diary of the 3-week canoe-camping trip my parents did in the summer of 1922. On Sunday we went to the beach at a local lake and the "kids" tried out our canoes. They also climbed a small mountain.
Mariko is in our thoughts today.
Wishing you all a fine day and sending healing vines to all in need,
Ella & Rusty
