Happy Friday to all. Sending healing vines to all our kitties who need them and deepest sympathy to Barbara as Won Ton has crossed the Bridge.
Gracie was up and at 'em this morning as soon as I got up. Purrrrrrrr. She was playing with Tobey before I even got her breffis and juice ready. CPC membership valid and then we played more. I gave her the puzzle box and she quickly fished several treats out. Tobey did his usual pushing the box around until he bumped it up against the wall, it flipped over, out came the treats.
I started a new pen this morning because I felt her numbers were looking really wonky and she didn't respond to the dosecrease.....which she normally does do within a cycle. Before I increased her yesterday morning, I momentarily wondered if it could be the lantus but I dismissed it because I had started a new vial June 24th and the vials should last longer than 28 days. But after yesterday's cycles and the AMPS today, I really started thinking about it. I was using a vial because it was donated to my vet's office by someone whose diabetic doggy had crossed. She gave me two, brand new, unopened vials with an expiration date of next summer. I have no idea how the lantus was stored before I got it and thought I'd give it a go and it seemed to work. But this morning on looking at her SS again and noting how long it usually takes her to respond to a dosecrease, I just felt I should try a new pen. Now I'm trying to get her slowed down! If it was, in fact, the pen, then this dose may be too much for her but time will tell. At least it should get her momentum going again and perhaps reductions will hold.
Mike put his trip this weekend up in giveaway because I've been really exhausted this week and he's had to shoulder almost all of the cat care....so he was really tired, too. I've so much to wrap up in the 15 days I have left to work so I can, in fact, retire by Aug 31. I've been a little restless sleeping and I think that has contributed to being so tired. The way our house is laid out, I can see light from the great room in our bedroom even with the blinds closed and the light keeps me from zonking out. So last night about 10, I laid down in one of the guest rooms which is on the far end of the house and it's really dark back there. I slept until 11:30 and then woke up; Gracie wasn't doing anything so Mike and I went to bed and both got a decent night's rest. The main reason I am retiring is because we can't keep up this pace and I absolutely cannot let him go to work tired. Three more weeks.....
Hope you all have an awesome day!!!
