Happy Friday to all. Sending healing vines to all our kitties who need them and deepest sympathy to Barbara as Won Ton has crossed the Bridge.

Gracie was up and at 'em this morning as soon as I got up. Purrrrrrrr. She was playing with Tobey before I even got her breffis and juice ready. CPC membership valid and then we played more. I gave her the puzzle box and she quickly fished several treats out. Tobey did his usual pushing the box around until he bumped it up against the wall, it flipped over, out came the treats.

I started a new pen this morning because I felt her numbers were looking really wonky and she didn't respond to the dosecrease.....which she normally does do within a cycle. Before I increased her yesterday morning, I momentarily wondered if it could be the lantus but I dismissed it because I had started a new vial June 24th and the vials should last longer than 28 days. But after yesterday's cycles and the AMPS today, I really started thinking about it. I was using a vial because it was donated to my vet's office by someone whose diabetic doggy had crossed. She gave me two, brand new, unopened vials with an expiration date of next summer. I have no idea how the lantus was stored before I got it and thought I'd give it a go and it seemed to work. But this morning on looking at her SS again and noting how long it usually takes her to respond to a dosecrease, I just felt I should try a new pen. Now I'm trying to get her slowed down! If it was, in fact, the pen, then this dose may be too much for her but time will tell. At least it should get her momentum going again and perhaps reductions will hold.

Mike put his trip this weekend up in giveaway because I've been really exhausted this week and he's had to shoulder almost all of the cat care....so he was really tired, too. I've so much to wrap up in the 15 days I have left to work so I can, in fact, retire by Aug 31. I've been a little restless sleeping and I think that has contributed to being so tired. The way our house is laid out, I can see light from the great room in our bedroom even with the blinds closed and the light keeps me from zonking out. So last night about 10, I laid down in one of the guest rooms which is on the far end of the house and it's really dark back there. I slept until 11:30 and then woke up; Gracie wasn't doing anything so Mike and I went to bed and both got a decent night's rest. The main reason I am retiring is because we can't keep up this pace and I absolutely cannot let him go to work tired. Three more weeks.....

Hope you all have an awesome day!!!

Gracie the sky diving queen today!!! What a drop in only 3 hours. Hmmm. Guess that new pen kicked in huh?

Glad to hear that both of you got good sleep last night. You both really needed it from the looks of Gracie's ss! 15 more days! I bet you are thrilled.

Have a wonderful Friday!!

DH here - We had to manipulate her this morning to slow down her dive, but she has had a beautiful surf today :-D

That's one of the prettiest set of numbers I've seen in a while from Ms. Gracie. The high dive at the beginning could go, but the rest is purty!!

Very nice & colorful day Miss Gracie!! New Pen always helps the numbers...
Retiring, gee maybe when I'm like 75???? ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile nailbite_smile
Congrats on that.. My DH may get a buyout in jan 2012--Hmmm we'll see.
Have a good evening-Hugs & lubs from us!

Melissa: amazing what a little new juice can do. We would prefer she not do those dives...not good but at least we got her slowed down. Yes...sleep was nice!!

Ann: definitely!! I mean it could be coincidence but I don't think so....her numbers were lookin pretty wonky.

Patty: I KNOW!! Finally!! High dive could definitely go but she had a nice surf for most of the day. Maybe the honey does work for her.

Roni: yeah...I know on the nailbite_smile nailbite_smile I've always worked....it will seem weird not to. After all, in this economy, who gives up an awesome job

Looks like the little girl might be reacting to that dive this morning. Paws crossed she gets her dip and then takes it nice and slow back down tonight.

Whoa on today sheshhhhh! - quite the morning there for Miss Gracie for a while. I am glad to see that she is up some, and has slowed the downward spiral. That +2 drop was a bit scary. I do so hope that she doesn't bounce from that drop this AM. nice and steady there Gracie.

Interesting on the insulin... I wonder if it was not as effective as it could be?

Good luck with the finals days at work. It will all come together. I am glad for you both, as I know how tired you are, Mike is, and the pace can be brutal. I wish you guys the best. Only a few more days....

Re: 8/5 Gracie PMPS 216

KInd of expected after that drop. Come on back down baby girl....sllooooowwwllly this time please.

Re: 8/5 Gracie PMPS 216

wow - what a day! good to know it was the lantus and not grace! we'll see what she does on fresh juice now. buckle up your seat belt for the crazy gracie ride!

Re: 8/5 Gracie PMPS 216

Far enough Gracie! Didn't those greens today feel great? Get back on that surfboard!

She isn't listening Auntie Annbean. But we are so happy to see her back in green. Hoping next time she comes down to green, she'll do it a little slower.

Julie: I know. I kept looking at her SS and scratching my head. I know typically it would be unusual for it to be the lantus after only 34 days of a vial. But....not knowing how it was handled before we got it, I didn't know of its efficacy. I guess I'll never know for sure but.....
