We are on cycle 9 of .1u and getting closer to that trial! So excited yet so scared. And so happy for my little man!

For an example of a recently OTJ kitty that followed this part of the protocol, take a look at Linda's Lucky's SS. Elian's SS too is showing a whole lot of normal BG numbers lately!Reducing the dose:
If kitty drops below 40 (long term diabetic) or 50 (newly diagnosed diabetic) reduce the dose by 0.25 unit. If kitty has a history of not holding reductions well or if reductions are close together... sneak the dose down by shaving the dose rather than reducing by a full quarter unit. Alternatively, at each newly reduced dose... try to make sure kitty maintains numbers in the normal range for seven days before reducing the dose further.
Try to go from 0.25u to 0.1u before stopping insulin completely..

I know he's on very little insulin now but it might be all he needs. Who knows - a few more cycles and we'll give it a try with all fingers and paws crossed! I'm going to practice to if I can manage to get one drop in case it's necessary. Please don't get me wrong - I'm totally thrilled for him - I'm hoping he can get OTJ and stay off.
