Big surprise for us tonight. pmps was 76. Ate all his dinner. Snack at +2 and ate maybe half of it. Ate the other half around +3.5. At +4 I test and the first number I get is 29. It was the last strip in the bottle, so I opened another one and he tested 48. I tested again just to be sure and got a 39. (This number is in between the other two, so it is the one I am going with)
He is acting so much better tonight. More bright eyed, playful, and he isn't walking around like his ears are bothering him. Probably has something to do with starting his ear drops last night. Tonight was the second dose of those.
I am assuming as per the general rules for otj trials that since he dipped low tonight on 0.1u that we should try no insulin tomorrow. In hind sight, I think the low to mid 100's we got with no insulin right after his dental were probably a reaction to pain and general icky feelings. Do we have the go-ahead to start a trial, or should I keep with the 0.1u again tomorrow?
