Re: 8/28 Kasha AMPS 103
I found evidence of more pasty poo in the litter box and in between litter boxes. So - I think that's part of the problem. I'm loading her up with probiotics - I've force fed (I can't bring myself to say "assist" because neither of us feels like that's the case) 2 more Tbsp food since breakfast. She just licked at some food on her own and then licked at a spoon of Wellness chicken and herring (I think) - that's the first time today that's she's licked at food on her own. She didn't really consume anything, but I hope it's a good sign. Maybe if we can resolve the belly issues, she might eat? I don't know - I've been feeling kind of queasy myself today.
Warmed food has never been very appealing to Kasha. I warmed up some milk and she was interested, but wouldn't lap at it. She shows some interest, but then snorts and won't eat. It sounds like someone snoring - and that's just how she is when she's awake and moving around. She's a little quieter when she sleeps. chicken broth - no. Warmed canned food - no. Milk - no. Fried chicken - no (no?!?!?).
I'm going to keep trying to get some more probiotics in her. My favorite are these little pearls, but I don't think that's going to be possible with her today. So - I'm mixing 2 different probiotics into some of her food. I don't want to overdo it, but if it were me, I'd be taking loads of 'em.
I need to get more cat food - might pick up some yogurt at Trader Joe's if I get a chance. I doubt that will be more palatable, but I can mix it into food as well.
Thanks Dian - I have that same stuff on hand for Kasha - I think she was supposed to get 1/4 of a pill BID - maybe I'll try 1/2 (and work my way up if need be) - but for tonight, I'm going to try to skip any meds (other than insulin and A/B) and give her some bupe in case she is in pain. She has soooo much post nasal drip - you can see her swallowing. I know that makes my throat hurt when it happens to me, and wonder if that's bothering her. My vet said when she was working on Kasha, she could see the drainage going down Kasha's throat - there was so much of it. Ugh.
