Glad to see Mocha is visiting the yellow zone. This is temporary -- you're seeing a response to the excitement of the last few days.
As far as food, like Libby was suggesting, it's trial and error. There really aren't rules. With Gabby, because she would drop during the early part of the cycle, I'm feeding her meals in 4 portions over the front end of the cycle. When I'm feeding to manipulate the curve,it's a little different. The rationale is that I'm trying to prevent Gabby from earning a decrease. I want her to stay in the greens at a dose for as long as possible until the numbers dictate otherwise. It's helped to flatten the curve and to reduce her bouncing. As a result, I get a day like today. If you look at Gabby's SS, I've tried to note when and what I'm feeding. I don't keep MC in the house, I am typically feeding a variable amount of LC with gravy and I vary the proportion depending on how fast numbers are dropping. If I have a morning like today. I may add a drop or two of Karo to raise numbers or prevent them from being in the 40s for too long.
I really don't think there's one way or one "right" way. A lot will depend on how carb sensitive Mocha is, where the numbers are -- blue vs. green, how fast numbers are dropping, and what your goal is.
