Not sure what to do. Here's the info:

Tootoo is likely in remission on the diabetes according to the vet. She thought I could stop the insulin if I wanted to. I did give him .25 this a.m. after AMPS of 128.

Regarding the pancreatitis, he's still not eating much. Nibbles higher carb Fancy Feast and dry if I sprinkle it on, but won't eat the Fancy Feast classics. Funny thing it my civvie won't either. Thought something was wrong with the cans, but they came from two separate cartons, so unlikely.

I gave him Buprenex this a.m. and attempted the Pepcid, but gave up after 3 tries. He's so mad he hisses and growls when I go near him now.

Later today I need to do the fluid. First time, and a little nervous.

He had to wear cone hat last night because he still has catheter in. If all goes well, that will come out tomorrow. He hates cone hat.

Going to try B12. A member not too far from me offered some, or I will check with vet again or order online.

So to sum up my questions:

1) Should I give him dry food just to get him eating - as much as he wants?
2) Will B12 help him recover or just prevent?
3) If I can somehow get the Pepcid down, will that help him eat?

I think that's all. nailbite_smile

Yes, the Pepcid may help.
Try putting the Pepcid in an oral syringe, adding water, shaking well to dissolve, and giving that way.
About 20 minutes or so after giving it, he may try to eat.

Re: 8/25 Advice Needed on Tootoo still

Thanks. I didn't have liquid syringe but got it down by wrapping him in towel first. Hopefully he starts eating. Still have questions about whether B12 would help him get better or just prevent, and on giving him any kind of food just to get him eating. He ate a little dry. Vet wants him back tomorrow if no change. I'm inclined to agree.

Also, hind legs are weak. Seems to be pain in rear area. Is this part of it? He took pain med this morning.

Give dry food if you must get him eating .. but maybe use Wellness Core Original, Evo Cat and Kitten, or Young Again 0 Carb.

Both forms of B12 may be helpful to him.
The methyl-B12 will help with any diabetic neuropathy.
Thecyano-B12 will help with pancreatitis; some may be absorbed even if given orally.
