Not sure what to do. Here's the info:
Tootoo is likely in remission on the diabetes according to the vet. She thought I could stop the insulin if I wanted to. I did give him .25 this a.m. after AMPS of 128.
Regarding the pancreatitis, he's still not eating much. Nibbles higher carb Fancy Feast and dry if I sprinkle it on, but won't eat the Fancy Feast classics. Funny thing it my civvie won't either. Thought something was wrong with the cans, but they came from two separate cartons, so unlikely.
I gave him Buprenex this a.m. and attempted the Pepcid, but gave up after 3 tries. He's so mad he hisses and growls when I go near him now.
Later today I need to do the fluid. First time, and a little nervous.
He had to wear cone hat last night because he still has catheter in. If all goes well, that will come out tomorrow. He hates cone hat.
Going to try B12. A member not too far from me offered some, or I will check with vet again or order online.
So to sum up my questions:
1) Should I give him dry food just to get him eating - as much as he wants?
2) Will B12 help him recover or just prevent?
3) If I can somehow get the Pepcid down, will that help him eat?
I think that's all. nailbite_smile
