Good morningYesterday
AMPS 238, b-ohb 0.7. Last nights and this mornings numbers look a lot better. Hopefully he keeps it up and we can ease on down a bit lower today.
I should probably capitalize it, B-0HB, though I'm not sure that's any more clear. It's what the blood ketone meter reads. What is ‘b-obb’?
Pretty moist, not tacky at all.How are his teeth and gums?
Has he ever had a dental?Pretty moist, not tacky at all.
Yes, it was about a year ago they did x-rays and found a couple of his teeth were spiderwebbed so they did an extraction and cleaning. He's actually do for another cleaning here, but we just did his physical a couple weeks ago and the vet didn't see any inflamation around the gum line like last timeHas he ever had a dental?
There could be something brewing under the gums.Yes, it was about a year ago they did x-rays and found a couple of his teeth were spiderwebbed so they did an extraction and cleaning. Couldn't tell you, I'll see if I can find out when we go to the vet today. I'll have the vet check out his gums too and I'll go ahead and get his cleaning scheduled. Was last years dental done by a veterinary dental specialist or the vet?

Going to go check it out nowDid you see on other post Sandy can help with R dosing.
Oh and I asked about this and they said the tech specialists do the cleaning supervised by the vet for anesthesiaWas last years dental done by a veterinary dental specialist or the vet?
Since kitties don’t sit still and ‘open wide and say ahhh’ the only way to truly evaluate the state of his teeth and gums is by examining and taking radiographs while kitty is under anesthesia.Oh and I asked about this and they said the tech specialists do the cleaning supervised by the vet for anesthesia
That's what they did. When I brought him in for the cleaning it was with a tentative possibility of extraction. So they put him under, took the x-rays/radiographs, did the cleaning, saw the spiderwebbing in two of the teeth and did the extraction.Since kitties don’t sit still and ‘open wide and say ahhh’ the only way to truly evaluate the state of his teeth and gums is by examining and taking radiographs while kitty is under anesthesia.
BK had a lump removed October of 2008 which was thankfully benign. While he was under his vet took a opportunity to get a good look inside his mouth and easily removed the decaying remains of a broken molar. That started the ball rolling - I immediately stopped R.Yup just called them, it'll be the same as last time where they'll do x-rays also and see if we need to do any extractions. Never counted a cats teeth, not sure how many he can afford to lose!
