Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Ahhhhhh.... elixir! Thanks Elsa), and Happy Catmint Caturday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Paw Prints Pizza is open and ready for business! They are running a Caturday Catnip special today, in honor of Catmint Caturday - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese. It continues to be warm for us PNW kitties, and Bug and Lola say they are turning off the pizza ovens early, cuz well it gets mega hot in there in the afternoons.... so best order early! So stop by Mannie's treehouse and get some pies! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... It is my bean's fav! SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, and a great week. The days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed. Will it ever? ;-) What a BUSY week! Truth be told, I prefer it that way. :-D   We have been swimming, and hiking, and to playgrounds, and Aquariums. We have had lunches on the mountain lakes, car camping some too, and on grassy laws picnic style. These days are wonderful ones. Life is good! :-D :-D :-D

Wednesday and Friday, were our swimming days this week. Due to some conflicts I was unable to find anyone to watch William on Friday, so all all went together  It actually went rather well, but not something I want o do on a regular basis until William is older and can handle himself better in the water. We soon will be back to the big pool when fall scheduling starts, and that, for now, is an no no to have both boys in there at the same time. It was nice on Friday to see how well Nicholas worked and played with his brother. he was very patient with him, encouraged him to try things, helped him when he could. William now knows what teh word DUNK means as I took him underwater a few times. That he handle well, no crying, no fuss. NICE! We had planned to have my MIL Connie watch William on Thursday, but Nicholas ended up going to the DR that morning, so we had to cancel. Bummer! We are getting closer to the end of summer pool scheduling, which I am so looking forward too. I believe Nicholas is too. Come September I will be able to spend much more time with William in the pool, when Nicholas enters a 2X/week pre-school type experience. When he goes to school, William goes to the pool. I am really looking forward to this, as it is more than apparent from a few previous visits, and times spend on the rivers, that William will love the water as much as Nicholas does. We will continue to swim on Friday night, just couldn't this week, as one pool was closed, the other still on summer schedule with no available time and the other is clsoed for one week for maintenance stuff. ShesssH! In that respect: bring on fall! We are still trying to "convince" Nicholas that swim lessons would be great, but he is adamant that he does not want t do them. silly boy! ALl in good time. In the meantime I teach him what I can, and marvel at how well he does on his own. GO NICK! GO WILLIAM!

Nicholas still looks forward to our after swim Friday Night Burger Feast too. That is just so fun: burgers and fries, just him and me, with lots of fun stories. last night Nicholas had a feast guest: William. :-D Since we did not have a pool we could go too, we went to the beach instead, stayed late ad had our burger feast there. William enjoyed it: ate some burger, loved his fries ans down the hatch wt his milkshake. Last night we again talked pool closures, as well as all our berry hunts, swimming in the rivers, and this weeks mountain visit He was really into that discussion, as we had spent the day swimming in and exploring some very cool lakes this week. He also talked alot about summer swim schedules and finally being able to swim again at his Friday night pool last week. he was sorry he couldn't go there this week. He was one very happy boy. We also talked endlessly about how his pools were closed. I heard alot of "What a BUMMER!" ;-) I had the boys late as mom and dad were at a Seahawks game. it sure was nice to stay at the beach into the early evening hours. That wodnerful drive home, with all his stories, was, this time, to grammie's hours, and not his home. Awesome time!

Nick's Pics continue!. He still voes the camera, takes them from time to time. last night he wanted to take a few of the interior of my car.   He had a DR's appt Thursday morning. He has a case of molluscum contagiosum, basically a viral wart thing, common with young children. it runs it's course for approximately 12/18 months, then disappears. He's into about month 12. Well somehow he managed to get a secondary infection in one of them, probably through scratching, and that darn thing swelled up, looked so sore, so off the to DR for him. He haddled the visit realy well, even all that poking and looking and lancing, etc. no tears until they went for a good sample to find the best AB. Poor kid! Anyways, he's on a 10 day regimen of AB's.    Try and get a nasty tasting concoction into a 3 year old that just doesn't understand that he needs to taken what is the foulest tasting stuff to come down the pike. Why on earth they can't make children's medicines taste better than they do.... It was my fate to get that "stuff" into him last night, and finally hit on the brainstorm of mixing it with Nutella. He loves that stuff, so, gave it a shot. He just new that he was getting a special treat, which I called Nutella Ice Cream, and down the hatch it went. YAHOO!          9 more days to go. So, if you please, healing vines for Nicholas.

Normally Monday would have been my hiking day.... but not this week. i spent it at a car dealerships. It was my misfortune to be involved in an auto accident last Th (I'm fine! :-D ) which left my auto totaled. A real bummer, as I liked that car. So Monday I spent at my DSIL dealership, where he works, looking at cars. I did buy, a Dodge Dart, 2014 model with only 1000 miles on it. it still even has that new car smell. :-D They consider it used, but for me, with such low mileage it is new. YaHOO! A new toy to play with... Got a great deal, since they considered me family, and kept giving me discount after discount. but awesome!

Tuesday was boring!!!.....  nothing happened on Tuesday.   It seems SO ODD to type that....   I did meet with my friend in Seattle for coffee, so all was not a total bore.

Wednesday, after swimming, we went to Juanita Beach. The weather was great, the afternoon was turning into a warm afternoon, like 80 (!!), so off we went! We did all of what he goes there for. Lots of play, and it was warm enough that he could swim in the water. He had such fun with that. I had also brought a pair of swim trunks for William, so he was able to really get in the water, and play as much as he wanted. He continues to love the very small waves, and had a blast. Nicholas was there to show him the ropes, and to introduce him to building beach lakes and rivers. Nicholas would start one, William would come in and mess it all up. WHAT FUN! WHAT A MESS he was after that.   They both were! William has really developed a fondness for it all, he just gets so excited when he sees the parks, the beaches, the rivers, He is so very much like his brother when he was that age. He just loved it. We also had a small picnic after our beach and park time. All around - really a terrific day. I bet both those boys slept well that night. AWESOME time at the beach.

Thursday was road trip day, after Nicholas's DR visit.. We had incredible weather in the forecast, and well, it just had to be an outdoor day. It was another 75 degree day, so outdoors was really a great choice. We went up to Gold Creek at Snoqualmie pass for the afternoon. It was so gorgeous up there. Nicholas was so excited to be there, couldn't wait to swim in the pond, play in the creek. It was cold though, and he knew when to some out, dry off, etc. it was fun to watch him analyze the creek, figure out the best way to get to where he wanted, by wading, and yet stay safe. he did well. William loved it too. He was one wet messy dirty little boy, having so much fun. it was great. it is nice to see he knows when to stop, always does just shy of the drop off point in the water. Listens too when I tell him far enough. kinda cool he does. We had a picnic lunch on the edge of the lake, with some awfully nice scenery as a backdrop. A great afternoon, and a nice way to take his mind off of his "owie"!!

Friday basically was a "free day" after the pool. We had all of the day and early evening, since the boys were with me until 9/10 PM. so.... stuff to do! After swimming we went for a walk at the Mesika Trail, by the Lynnwood Pool. We thought it would be fun to check on the berries there, see if more had come into fruit, do one more berry run at the pool trail . That was so fun. Nicholas found that hidden patch of wild raspberries last week, remembered where it was, so this week he once again climbed on in and ate them all, the remaining 2. ;-) We thought we had eaten them all last week, but found a few this week.   That was much to Nicholas's delight. :-D He did save half of one for his brother (  ), who was busy with the blackberries. It was fun. We ended up doing the whole trail, with alot of play time throughout of walk. After the trail, and a much needed nap we were back at Juanita Beach, to spend the late afternoon and early evening there. Nicholas can swim in that beach area, so he thought it would be a perfect solution to not having pool to go to. That proved to be true. He did swim some, met a boy his age and spent the rest of the time playing with him. William spent alot of his time trying to keep up with them. ;-)  and getting REALLY SANDY and dirty.... It was such a great way to spend a Friday night We made it home by 7:30/8, they both got baths in Grammie's kitchen sink. Well... truth be told, I rarely use that bathtub, prefer out shower area instead, and have used the tub for the laundry baskets (bathroom is small), and used towels, all hidden behind the shower curtain     . anyways.... they had a blast taking a bath in the kitchen sink.    They will talk about that for some time to come. Bed time stories followed, and off to bed, until m om and dad made it to pick them up. Loved it all. :-D

I am sitting here this morning, just like last week, trying to think what to write about the kitties.... and just like last week, thinking alot too about Mannie, and all the adventures he planned to for all the LL kitties. I so miss those days, and the fun, and relief from all the FD and the stress that comes with it. In that vein, Elsa, Lola and Bug decided that maybe the kitties would like to come to a Caturday party in the treehouse. They have Mannie;s ziplines working, and fired up the outdoor fire pit/grill, and fresh baked Paw Prints Pizza. Amazing what Mannie had packed and built into that treehouse. Best show up kitities! Party On as Mannie would say.
The rest I wrote last week, but all of it continues to be true. More so on the things about Bug and Nicholas. "The kitties are doing well here, all three of them. The last three days that Nicholas has napped here, I have found Bug sleeping, or watching, just outside of Nichoals's door, on the threshold. To me, that was huge. Could it be that Bug may take over where Mannie left off? I always swore that Mannie and Nicholas were bonded, inseparable, perhaps his feline GA is making sure all will be well. I always felt that Mannie sent Bug to us. They are just so much alike. Lola continues to be Lola, wild crazy fun Lola. Still the ultimate escape artist. She loves the outdoors, it has been hard to keep her inside. She is back to uprooting plants. 3 so far this week (one the week of 8/17), all upturned, all with dirt everywhere. So so Lola! Elsa is doing well too. I really Do need to schedule her senior wellness exam, but keep putting it off. I am not too sure why, guess I don't want any bad news, though I really have no reason to suspect any. Her weight is down some, but she seems well otherwise. (as of 8/22, still haven't made her appt....  ) Elsa is still dong well, darn active for an almost 18 year old. She sleeps alot, but what the heck: part of being a cat. She continues to be a very good lap cat of late: nice! With the warm weather she has been out in the yard alot. Lola is SO JEALOUS!!, and lets me know it whenever she sees Big Sis out in the yard. It is interesting that Bug just doesn't seem to mind that all. He is more than content to be a house cat. Kitties are good, and All are sound asleep as I write this.... Stay good kitties!" Normalcy in MusketeerVille! cat_pet_icon

Have a great day everyone! Enjoy your Caturday. The shopping is done, laundry almost done, rest of the day is free!   I hope that later today I will be able to walk the trail here, to the shore. 0% chance of rains today, and temps remain in the mid 70's. it should still be a nice day to be out. Paws crossed!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: Lovin' the BUSY! Happy Caturday LL!!

Hi Michelle, I always look forward to your Caturday posts- and as usual, I am amazed at your energy and busy schedule! Sorry to hear about your accident, glad you are okay, be careful out there! Congrats on your new ride but sorry you missed your hike. I loved your Mt Rainier pics, we are long overdue for a hike there, it's been too long! That is so neat that Nicholas wants to take pictures, and why not, he has a good role model! :-D :-D

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: Lovin' the BUSY! Happy Caturday LL!!

Poor Nicholas. I hope you can continue to get the AB in him. Sending prayers for him. That’s great how he played with William at the pool.

I like your new car. I know exactly what you mean about having to get another car, but still liking the old one. A Dodge Dart was one of the cars I had considered before I got my new one. I’m glad you weren’t hurt in the accident.

We thought we had eaten them all last week, but found a few this week. That was much to Nicholas's delight. He did save half of one for his brother
 At least he did think of sharing with William.

I'm glad the kitties are all doing well. Furball can't wait for the party in the treehouse.

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: Lovin' the BUSY! Happy Caturday LL!!

Happy Caturday Evening! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O)
Elsa says it is never too late for ~O) do she is out making more deliveries, making sure the bean at home had plenty.

I hope everyone had a great day today. Mine was rather predictable, kind of how most Caturdays are. Shopping and errands are done, laundry completed, so I spend the afternoon hiking the local trails at Meadowdale, and walking the shoreline. The weather here today has been very nice: 79 tops, under sunny skies. I've probably said it alot before, but I love hiking these woods here, the trees that make it up allow for alot of filtered sunlight, and when the sun is out, it is very pretty in there. The beach/shore area was CROWDED, so I was glad to see that the tide was out far enough that I could walk some distance YAY! I did however, misjudged the rising tide time ad got caugt in some of that to the extent that my feet and shoes were soaked.      oh well, all dry and toasty now. It was been a very nice afternoon, a nice topped for a busy week. Have a great evening everyone, mine will be spent chilin', doing almsot nothing.... works for me!

Hi Ruth ~O) :-D :-D THX so much, you are far too kind. I am glad to enjoy my weekly ramblings, and adventures. THX too on the accident stuff, bit fun, but all is well. Me to on the hike, but we will make up for that this coming Monday, should the weather be in my favor. I hope to return to the North Cascades, and hike Cutthroat Pass. We shall see if I can.... paws crossed! It not, maybe Rainier. I really like the Naches Peak Loop - that one is such a nice hike, a 4 mile loop, with such views! It is fun with Nicholas and the camera. He does ask alot and I let him It is interesting what he takes pictures off, all things that are very in the moment.

Hi Carla ~O) :-D :-D I so know on Nicholas and those AB's. so far the doctored venison is working, he figured it all out with his morning, but listened to his mom and ate the nutella version. So we all hope that will continue to be the case. I thought so too on the pool and William, It really was nice to see! THX on the car too. I like the Dart, and have no regrets. It suits me and drives really well. I miss the old one, as it did serve me well, still after 14 years had incredible gas mileage. One has to love Hondas. Great cars, and I was sad to have to give it up. So far the Dart is performing well, avg is 30 mph. Not bad! LOL, and I so agree on Nicholas and the half berry for his brother, It was so funny to watch him divide that thing, making sure he got most of it. At least he did save some for William. ;-)
Furball! HURRYS!! We are so glad you will be here too. this should be major funs! See ya! Elsa, Lola, and Bug

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: Lovin' the BUSY! Happy Caturday LL!!

Hi Michelle,
I have to come back tomorrow to really read your Caturday post. It's very late and I'm tired. I can believe that you might be a little tired, too, after your week. Glad you are OK after the car accident. Getting meds into Nicholas sounds like the same sort of challenge that we have getting meds into the kitties! Too bad we can't make Nutella ice cream for them!

See you tomorrow and looking forward to looking at the week's pics.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: Lovin' the BUSY! Happy Caturday LL!!

Hi Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes on that tired factor.... Friday was such a busy and active day. but fun! SO AGREED on getting the meds into Nicholas, very much like dealing with out furkids. Yesterday Nicholas figured out we were "doctoring" those treats. smart kid! My DD is now using applesauce, and that seems to go well. 2 days down, 8 to go. Enjoy the pics when you have the chance. :-D

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! Happy Sunday LL!!

Good Morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (YUM! I Love coffee!), and Happy Sunday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! Coffee is on, Lola and Bug , founders of Paw Prints Pizza, are ready to go! Want pizza? it is MEGA GOOD! They are busy getting ready for.... uh.... I dunno! but there sure is a flurry of activity in the kitchen. so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. For my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....... and orange drizzle! SWEET!, and perfect for a summer day. OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

Morning Everyone! I am finally awake enough. YAY! An early morning walk on the beach at Picnic Point helped remove those lingering cob webs this morning, of which there were many.  Our weather guys said it would be foggy there, so.... went in anticipation of finding cool foggy things to look at. I get there and am greeted with a nice early morning light, and the lingering affects of a sunrise, with alot of lavenders and pale pinks. it was rather pretty. I got lucky too in that the tides were on their way out, enough so that I could get in a long walk this morning,. YaHOO! That was great. :-D :-D

The weather here is sunny this morning, so we have had the slider open, screen closed to keep the kitties in. well...... YOU GUESSED IT! Guess who managed to claw her way through the screen, through a small hole, repaired sometime ago. LOLA!!!!!! duh....     She somehow got her paw in there and proceeded to undo the repair job, which has held for over two years. not any more..... She apparently had a very good time out there. I rounded her up with a bag of kitty treats, as she cannot resist that rattle of that treat bag. What a hoot. she has been back to the door every five minutes, to any open window she can find. RUN RUN RUN RUN - is it open? Drat, nope, best try the next one. She finally laid on the floor, panting, mouth open, recovering, and then she was back at it again.      I so need to get that catio done! She is now laying on my lap, giving the best schmooze she has to offer, in the hopes I am sure, that I will let her out again. oh Lola..... silly girl. :-D

Enjoy the rest of your weekend LL!

Re: 8/23,24 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! Happy Sunday LL!

Maybe make Elsa her guardian?

The pics are terrific, especially Cold Creek. The boys look like they are having a ball there. The water must be cold, but it doesn't seem to matter to them.

Hope you're having a fun day today. Thanks for visiting us, and, Elsa, thank you for the ~O) ~O)

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/23,24 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! Happy Sunday LL!

Oh no Michelle, glad to hear that rascal Lola came back home- that's a good trick to shake the Pure Bites bag, had to do that myself a time or two! :-D You are my hero, I don't think I have ever made it to the end of Cutthroat Pass, I am such a wimp! But to my defense, I am carrying 14 pounds of camera gear   I get too distracted by birds and flowers LOL! Someday, I'll make it! Hope Nicholas is feeling better, I missed that he has to take those yukky AB's!

Re: 8/23,24 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! Happy Sunday LL!

Oh oh! What a crafty one that Lola! And once she gets out, she'll be all that much more persistent for the next little while. Good thing she came back easily.

Love your pics as usual. The weather lately has been absolutely divine. Warm but not too hot - great beach weather. The boys are so lucky to have swims in rivers, creeks and the ocean. They'll have fond memories of that for ages. Vines for Nicholoas - good idea hiding ABs in Nutella! I have a Nutella gelato recipe, maybe it tastes like that. ;-)

Re: 8/23,24 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! Happy Sunday LL!

Crazy Lola. I'm glad you were able to get her back in so easily. She'll be trying really hard to get back out for a while now. I'm glad you were able to get a nice walk in this morning.

Re: 8/23,24 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! Happy Sunday LL!

You are so busy all the time! But what for you and the boys. You are one great Grammy!

Whooo Hoooooo! LOLA! You rock! Isn't it fun to race all across the yard and up the trees? I'll meet you tomorrow and teach you how to climb straight up talllllll poles! -- Emma, tree climber extraordinar!

Re: 8/23,24 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! Happy Sunday LL!

What a busy glorious day - I have been hiking at Mt Rainier. FABULOUS! I will write about that tomorrow though as I'm beat, and well want to answer all of you too. So tomorrow for a condo update.

Hi Ella ~O) :-D Not a bad idea, making Elsa Lola's guardian. hmmmm, possibilities! THX on the Pics. I LOVE Gold Creek, it is gorgeous and perfect for the boys, a short hike, and a lake to wade in when it is warm. They had such fun while there! Yes, it was COLD, but they didn't care, not one bit. YUPP! Today was GREAT, more on that tomorrow. :-D

Hi Ruth ~O) :-D Me too on Lola - I couldn't believe it, really didn't know she got out until a few hours after the fact, when I noticed the what is now a HUGE hole. darn cat! Well, had intended to do Cutthroat Pass today but changed my mind at the last moment, when the weather forecast said mostly cloudy, and did Rainier instead, which was 100% sunny. Cutthroat will be postponed til next week. I still need to get to Maple pass, one of my all time fav hikes, that and Cascade pass and Sahale Arm. All so so pretty! LOL on the camera gear. I cam relate, one reason why I know carry a good Point and Shoot. THX on Nicholas, it is getting better!

Hi Wendy ~O) :-D YUPP on Miss Lola.... she was having the time of her life when I finally caught her! Now she runs to the door anytime it is opened.   THX too on the pics. The weather has been good here too, some AM clouds, but very sunny afternoons. I can't complain one bit. THX too on the boys - they LOVE that stuff, so I am more than happy to get them there. THx on Nicholas, what an ordeal, which he has handles very very well. He's doing better now too!

Hi Carla ~O) :-D YUPPO! CRAZY says it well. darn cat! Oh yes on the trying really hard to get out. ANYTIME the door is opened or we even walk by it she runs to see if she can get out. oh my..... THX on the walks, they have been great. and today's hike? PRIMO!

Hi Ann ~O) :-D AH thanks... you are too kind. It is fun, and they just thrive on it all. I have to admit I kinda like all the places we visit too.
EMMA! I DID IT!!!! I got OUT! Cool, huh! You gotta show me the tree stuff, I've never been up one... well short of the Christmas tree but that doesn't count. they look kinda cool how high can we go? to the top? I LOVES to race on the yard, and am very fast! ZIPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! That is me! See ya tomorrow, 'K? ~~ Lola

Re: 8/23,24 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! Happy Sunday LL!

Lola is a wild one!   I'm glad she's with people who appreciate her. :-D The pictures on FB of Mt. Rainer are amazing. I would be shocked if William didn't like the water. Vines for Nicholas, stroke of brilliance to spike the Nutella. Yikes on the car!

Re: 8/23,24 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

Good Morning LL ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (LOTS! I just love ~O) ), and Happy TUNA Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, kitteh barista pilot!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is TUNA TUESDAY!!! In honor of Tuna Tuesday, once again Lola and Bug, aka Paw Prints Pizza, will make their famous triple tuna pies, with tuna and nip infused crust, tuna toppings, and now triple tuna infused cheese. YUMMMMMMMM! It's tradition!, and these pizza pies totally rock! and as a side benefit we have TUNA WATER too! So... come to Mannie's treehouse and get your pie, before they are all gone. Gone? nah.... Paw Prints says they will make sure there are enough pies for everyone! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. and for my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized oranges and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... OH! forget it... no tuna mochas. BLECH!

Hi everyone! Sorry I missed the board, almost entirely, yesterday. It was a hiking day for me. I was out early, and not back til late.... I-) I was out the door at 5AM, did not make it back until 6 or so... a long day! I went to Mt Rainier, and hiked the Naches Peak trail out of the Sunrise area of the Park. The hike was excellent, that one is a keeper. it is one that I have done in the past, and more than likely will do again. It is part of the PCT trail, and by that nature, a very pretty one. Nice views all around. Rainier looked great! I did one of the Spur hikes too, well actually it is the continuance of the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail, a through hike that originates in California) through Dewey Lakes. WOW, that was beautiful. Never done that part before, sure glad I did today. I alwyas find it kind of exciting to think that i'm hiking that trail, it is legendary, and passes through some of the most scenic parts of Washington. When I awoke yesterday morning I had originally intended to hike Cutthroat Pass in the North Cascades (Primo sutff!), but the weather was a 50/50 deal, with alot of clouds predicted. Cloudy and 85/90. so.... knew I'd want a sunny day so I could see what one goes there to see, especially after driving 3 hours just to get there: those panoramic views of some very nice mountains. I elected then to postpone Cutthroat Pass until next week, and headed to Mt Rainier instead. Rainier was sunny, nice temp at 65/70, and GORGEOUS! anyways - had a really nice time, great weather, wonderful views. Can't get any better than that. :-D   The drive there and back, my mini road trip, for the week, was also very nice, with great views in the park!

Nicholas update: His arm seems to be getting better. I had to laugh: the morning after my nutella success with the AB's, his mom goes to do the same thing, and he looks at her and says: "my medicine is in there, isn't it!".  Smart kid! Well with a little discussion, coaching and encouragement, he took his meds anyways, and has been good about it since. The "owie" finally came to a head Sunday afternoon, and not meaning to be gross, when it ruptured, oozing all kinds of gross and wonderful things that infections are known for. :? Things are slowly looking better with the wound, and hopefully now it can start to heal. he has been such a trooper through it all, rarely complains, and lets mom do what needs to be done to help keep it clean and on the road to recovery. GO NICK! We will all be so glad when this viral wart thing has run its course, and sure as heck hope any of the others do not do what this one did. :-D

Not too much new on the kitty front. Our escape artist continues to try and get out. After having a few hours out there she has decided that it was PRIMO (!!!!!) and tries every chance she gets to sneak on through that opening, when anyone goes in or out. She even paws at the door, with what I swear is an "open PLEASE" chant.  She is relentless. ah Lola....never ever a dull moment with you. :-D  Bug is well, doing Bug type tings. He loves to chase Lola, and gets her going something fierce. Elsa pulled a Lola yesterday, went out when she wasn't supposed to, DH couldn't get her back in, had to go to work, I was hiking and not home, and the rest is.... Elsa spent the day out. No worse for wear. It was sunny and warm here, I am sure she spent the day soaking up those rays. But Elsa? Next time come in when you are supposed to.... A for sure case of Normalcy in Three MusketeerVille. cat_pet_icon

Enjoy your day everyone. I am off to have breffis with my son Yahoo! and then Seattle for coffee with my friend. A normal typical Tuesday.

Hi Liz ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes on Lola. One CRAZY WILD kitty! One has to love her personality. THX on Rainier - ti was so nice there yesterday, great hike too! Thx on the boys, Nicholas i improving.

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

What a great day for you yesterday! Have another great one today w/ DS and your friends.

The way we catch Emma is always giving her a special treat a couple times a day. She shows up right on time for the treats (now it is a little raw lamb, it used to be raw giblets) and if we are lucky we can catch her at 6:00pm ! Sometimes she goes up in the shade cloth and plays hard to get!

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

What fun. Congrats on the new car. I'm glad no one was hurt in the accident though. What a way to get a new car. Stay safe.

Lots of healing vines for Nicholas. He is a very smart kid. Poor guy. That is rough for a 3 year old.

Sweet Lola. She does keep you on your toes. There always has to be one.

Have a great day Michelle!

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

Hi Michelle,
Those PCT pics are to die for! Are you ever lucky to have magnificent views like those to marvel at. I really like the openess of the trail and the views from whereever you are on the trail. Here most trails are in dense forest until one gets to the top of a mountain and can see the views.

Ugh on Nicholas's bursting wart! I'll bet he was really interested in what came out. :o

Thank you Elsa, for the Ethiopian espresso--PRIMO!!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

Wow Michelle! You sure have been busy this week! (not that this week is any different from any other week!)

I swear just reading your condo makes me need to take a nap  But it's really wonderful that you are still healthy and strong enough to do all the fun things you do, especially with your dear Nicholas and William!

The pictures are, as usual, absolutely awesome. What fantastic scenery this world has for us if we know where to look!

Have you ever seen those little cameras you can put on a harness and put on your cat? Might be fun to see where Lola goes when she escapes! Knowing that little mischief maker, it could be a YouTube viral video!

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

Lola!!! It is sooooooo much better INSIDE your bean's house than it is outside your bean's house....I promise!!! No more escaping!!! As always a big "phew....how does she do all that" feeling after reading your condo  !!! Have a great evening, Michelle!!!

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

I'm glad Nicholas' arm is getting better. I hope he will continue to take his meds. Beautiful pictures from your hike.

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

Hi everyone! happy Tuna Tuesday evening! This place smells like Tuna, I think paw Prints Pizza has been working over time. S simply must get those pizza ovens moved to the treehouse!
well, seriously, I hope you all had a great day. it's been busy here, when aren't they? Breffis with my son was great. I so enjoy that time with him, Now to find something similar for my youngest, son #2. ;-) I did make it to Seattle too. It is always fun just to hangout with friends, former co-workers and hear the latest on the job I don't miss. In between all that socializing I cleaned the house, which was sorely needed. Shesshh I even mopped the floors. and cleaned with windows.  Now maybe I can ignore both for a few months... Have a great evening LL!

And WOW on all these posts! ThX everyone for visiting! :-D :-D

Hi Ann ~O) :-D Yesterday was awesome. I love Rainier - it can be so gorgeous there, but also very busy! I was there early enough that I missed most of the crowds. YAY! Today was fun too. Funny how our escape artists can't resist those treats, It gets Lola every time too. She is nuts for Friskies, go figure on that but whatever works for her. You gotta love it when they play hard to get. Lola will do that too: just enough to be out of reach. darn cat! THANKS too n the book reference. I will look for that, as I agree: Nicholas would love it.

Hi Melissa ~O) :-D THX on the new car. I miss the old one, but this new one is kinda fun, and proving to be a good replacement. Will do on the safe thing. THX too on Nicholas, and right you are: it was tough and hard for him, but he has done very well on dealing with it all. Brave little boy. LOL on Lola, you are so right: there alwyas has to be one! And I don't regret having her at all. She is quite teh kitty.

Hi Ella ~O) :-D THX on the pics - I agree. I LOVE that hike, for the reason you stated. all so open, views are great, and Rainier in all its glory can't be beat. Obly thin that night be better is the b north cascades, when one get to the Washington pass area - views there are incredible. Oh yes on Nichoals's "owie" so so gross, but it didn't freak him out, more like "uh mom? look!"
Auntie Ella - that was for you! I will bring you more tomorrow. Ethiopian RULES! ~~ Elsa, kitteh barista

Hi Chris ~O) :-D LOL, but thanks on the busy. Right you are though, they all tend to be that way: busy weeks. I like it that way, duh.  Thx too on the healthy and strong - I am grateful that I am able to do it all with these boys, that age hasn't gotten the better of me. What a relief! So agreed on William and Nicholas. THX too on the pics. There are, as you say, so many wonderful places out there to see. I am grateful that I can! Too FUN on those little cameras. I have actually thought of doing that, seeing what it is that she does sometimes And when out, oh yes! I'd love to know what she does, and where she goes! LOL, can't you just see that YouTube con viral?

Hi Amy ~O) :-D I keen telling her that. Today she made it two more times! just enough to get on the porch at which point I grabbed her. She has been meowing at all the windows and doors all day long.....    I so know on that feeliong/ I am constantly saying the same thing. how DOES she do that... speaking of: just found another tear in my re-repair of other repair job, dang it!

H Carla ~O) :-D Thanks so much On Nicholas. it is slowly healing, soon to be all better, it is tough getting there, but he has been such a trooper through it all. nTHX too n the hike: What a gorgeous place!

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

What beautiful PCT pics! I'm amazed how everything still looks so green in spite of the lack of "you know what" we've had this summer.

I'm with Ella - I bet Nick was fascinated when the wart burst. He'll have tales to tell for ages on that.

Re: 8/23-26 LOOSE LIPS: My escape artist!! It's Tuna Tuesday

Hi Wendy ~O) :-D THX on the pics. It was somehow kind of exciting to think that one was hiking what is the PCT. I saw/met two through hikers, kinda cool! In a few weeks I hope to be on another section of it, breif that it is, when I go to Maple pass, etc up in the North Cascades. Very true ion the green! Everything there was, also very vibrant, though here at Naches Peak, the flowers are pretty much done. Still was great though.   I am so grateful, in way, for the lack of "you know what"I hear that will be back this weekend. ;-) You could very well be right on Nicholas. I will have to get his take on it all when I see him tomorrow. I am sure I will hear all the gorey details!  Oh yes on those tales! Funny how we never forget those kind of things. :-D

Hi everyone! I just had to share this.... Our resident escape artist has perfected her skills. FOUR times today! Outside at all costs, in her opinion.        :-x         DH comes home, and I hear him outside talking to some one. I should have known,... he walks in with Lola in the crock of his arm, and says" "were you missing someone?" I had no clue she had done it again. :? :? :? She's getting good! On the plus side, he says she was just laying on the porch, which is under my "office" window, sunning herself. No wonder I kept hearing this kitty outside with this sweet meeeee-ooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww. I never occurred to me it was Lola.

Oh that Rascal Lola!! Please give her a big hug from me!

Great pics Michelle- Love your pics of PCT- I know what you mean about that feeling of walking where the legends walked- it is a neat feeling! :-D

Oh, LOLA!!!!! You are the mischievous one, aren't you?!  Sending big healing vines to Nicholas. I will have to re-read your initial post later because I really need to get to bed, but I love reading about your adventures with the boys and your hikes. Happy Wednesday, Michelle!

Hi Ruth :-D :-D Will do on Miss Lola, my wild and crazy girl. THX on the pics. I so agree: it is such a wonderful feeling to know you are on trails that the legends hike. I can still remember my first time on part of the PCT - it was at Maple Pass in the North Cascades. I can still see the post that marked the intersection of the two trails. What a rush!

Hi Deborah :-D :-D That she is! I still can't believe she did it again tonight, and I was none the wiser. Apparently through another Small hole in my screen repair. sheshhhh!  THX too on Nicholas. He really is doing much better today, and his owie has tremendously improved. YAY! Many many thnaks on the rest. :-D

Hi Ella :-D :-D I so agree! She didn't wander, but stayed close. Impressive! Maybe there is hope, maybe.
Auntie Ella! I was GOOD! I SWEAR!! I just had to get out, ya know? It is so cool out there, and the sun was out, and the steps were warm. and then these was this breeze! That was so awesome. I so hope I show my bean that I can be a good girl, and maybe she will let me out again. Maybe? I hope so! I get kinds tired of having to sqqquuueeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzeee through those scree holes, ya know? ~~ Lola, escape artist extraordinaire!

Morning Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) I will have to give her that: she did try, and didn't really run around like a crazy kitty.  well, at least for that last escape out. It was nice to see that she did stay close. At least now when she does get out I don't worry so much. She is so darn curious about EVERYTHING that I still tend to worry she will be a bit too curious. Gotta budget for that catio!

LOLA!!!!!!!!!!

Don't let her fool you, Michelle! She's trying to make you feel secure that she's not roaming...once you get comfy, she'll push the limits! I know of what I speak...I've seen Trix do it with kibble bowls!!

Stay inside, young lady - it is safe, you've got lots of plants and tissue boxes and glass doors to bang and food...much, much better than being outside!!!

Hi Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes - I shall not be fooled. She is a cunning one that one.I can see those wheels turning, even when she sleeps.  I am sure she's waiting for that perfect moment, and then BAM! I shall be hit on my blind side.  I keep telling her the same: indoors is great, lots of food, toys, and the inevitable plants, window door banging, boxes and paper... what more could a kitty want. her answer: the great outdoors.  It does not help that she see Elsa go out all the time. :? ah Lola... what shall we do with you? Scritches to you kitty!

PSSSTTTT! Emma! it's me, Lola! COOL huh! Mission accomplished, tonight! AGAIN! I got my bean wrapped around my paws! I am so good with that "I'm sorry look...." that she forgives me, lets down her guard, and ZIPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! I'm out. heeheehee. ~~ Lola
