Bell is tolerating her new cone. She is not too happy about it, but it is better than all the other cones/collars i bought. I think she actually liked the cardboard one better :) but this one is safer for her to maneuver around in.

Her rupture has scabbed over nicely. I am tempted to take the cone off but am going to wait a few days. I don't want to extend the healing time if she rips the scab off.

I did stop the Animax after an application yesterday morning. I talked to the vet who said it should not affect Bell's BG because it was only a topical steroid, but it still made me a bit nervous. Since the wound is nicely scabbed over, she doesn't need it anymore. Bell did just dip her toe in the blues this morning, so maybe that was due to stopping the Animax, or maybe just a pure coincidence, hard to tell.

When forced to wear an elizabethan collar, Bell demands to be treated like a queen. Yes, that is a stack of 3 pillows of which Bell has crafted her throne.

More good news for Bell. Just heard from the vet and they were able to grow a strain of bacteria from the culture they took from the rupture. It turns out that the antibiotic they prescribed (Clavamox) before getting the culture results is in fact the only non-injectable antibiotic that targets this particular strain (at least that they have). So fingers crossed she'll be done with this nightmare once she completes this Clavamox course.

@Sienne and Gabby (GA) thanks so much for the recommendation to do this and @Dyana thank you for sharing your experience with your cat's abscess culturing!
