Well - no more stinkus pinkus (sarcasm) - barely - but I'll take it.
Last pm took Tuscany outside for awhile. She laid in the lawn , looking bright eyed and alert. When I went to pick her up she was pissed at me! Didn't want to leave her spot - even when I told her she was going for a walk with me to survey her yard. I told her stories while we walked. About the time she spent hours by the rock ledge and finally caught a chipmunk. She was so proud! She carried that thing all the way up the driveway in her mouth. At first I couldn't see what she had in her mouth and then she brought it up to the porch and put it down. Poor thing was still alive and kicking. Tuscany was so surprised I think when that chipmunk took off on her.
I took her around to other areas in the yard - asking her if she remembered when she found the nearly dead deer (off her usual path that she would take). I think she had actually heard the animal - it looked very dead but later I went back out and it had flipped itself around.
I took her to the area where she had her confrontation with the very live buck. So funny remembering that one! I think the buck was more afraid of her.
She sat on the warm stones over in that area as the dusk turned to night and the bats came out last pm.
She was still pissed at me when I picked her back up - she did not want to come in.
Got to leave. Was up early for a meeting - as was DH. I had the short straw and had to go to meeting, get back home, shoot cat and now leaving again for work.
Friends from Vancouver arriving today for 6 days. Kind of a staycation for us. We will probably be sailing and biking (ok drinking good wine and eating too much also) - but I may not be here much til Sunday. DPS will be filling in on the nights we aren't here.
