Hardly ate anything this morning. Food that was left out while I was at work hadn't been touched. Put some chopped ham on the food and she still wouldn't eat. Stuck a few treats in it and she dug them out. Put a little bit of dry food on top and she just sat there. My younger cat Autumn came into the kitchen to eat, and Meadow decided she would eat then. But she only ate the dry food. Guess it's better than nothing.

She really is a little character, isn't she? What a challenge with the eating!

A lot of posts regarding the avatar size and whatnot. Are you familiar with photobucket? You can resize your picture there....anyway, I hope you find information that will help....

I hate to harp on the food thing, but if Meadow isn't eating at least half of her normal calories, she needs to see the vet. Her liver can be damaged without enough food, and hepatic lipidosis can set in. It is very, very hard to overcome HL. Lucy survived it, but many don't. If she doesn't eat, then please go to your vet and have bloodwork done. You'll want to keep an eye on her liver values, among other things.
 
Libby, thanks for your concern, but I already spoke to the vet about this. He said a cat can only get hepatic lipidosis if they do not eat ANYTHING for 2-3 days. If they eat any amount of food, then they are fine, and she is eating. I have had other vets tell me this as well in the past. He knows what she's been eating for the past week and doesn't feel it's a problem. I had an overweight cat years ago who I put on a diet. I asked the vet at University of Missouri vet school what the minimum amount of food I should feed because I didn't want him to go into liver failure. And he said the same thing, that they have to go without any food for days for this to happen.
 
hi amber. i'm glad meadow is eating something, but i do wonder how much longer this can go on without her getting sick or anorexic.
when you talked to your vet, was there any concern about what could be causing her poor appetite?
