I’m amazed at how reactive to food he is. He ate about a teaspoon and a half of MC food an hour ago and BG is up 24 points.

Went to Costco and brought home a box. I haven’t seen Moe hang out in a box in *ages*. You can definitely see his acro face in these pics.

May be a dumb question but what is acro? He’s a beautiful kitty!
Not a dumb question. He has acromegaly: A tumor on his pituitary gland that secretes excess growth hormone, causing diabetes and growth of the skull, soft tissue and extremities. His muzzle is enlarged and he’s got a typical “pot belly” due to enlarged organs. He was just diagnosed a few months ago and is taking cabergoline to try and control it. There’s a forum for Acro kitties here on FMDB if you want to learn more

Beautiful cycle today! Simply . . . repeat for tonight:cool::D:cool:

Acromegaly caught my attention first because of Wendy's Neko, then another, then another. I've heard that 25% of diabetic cats have acro, but the percentage on these forums doesn't seem that high. Acro kitties have a very special place in my heart:cat:
