It's ok, just a bounce off the lower numbers. And he obviously likes those lower numbers with the way he plays, etc, it's just that is body isn't used to them and tries to overcome it by sending him higher. Even with his bounce, he's still under renal threshold which is important. Having the bounciest kitty in the world, I'm used to it, but I can see where someone else might bug out.
It'll be fine, it takes time. The bounces will become less extreme and further apart as his body gets used to being in good numbers. How long does it take? As long as it takes. They'll bounce till they don't. Not a thing you can do about it, except keep track and keep adding data to his SS.
Getting back to his normal food may make a difference. Be sure to add that info to his SS, it could be very helpful in the long run, when looking for patterns in his numbers. Some people keep track of a lot of things, even moon phases. There are some that swear they're cats go higher during full moon. Mel's cat Autumn is sensitive to everything, a thunderstorm will send her soaring. Anytime he's higher than he should be, try to look at the big picture. Is it storming, did he get into a fight with a housemate, etc? You'd be amazed at what effects their BG's. Because Lucian was so high for so long, I could never tell. But I notice he seems to go higher before he hurls a furball and drops down afterwards. I've heard other cats do the same with furballs. So I'm starting to look at other things myself.
And yes, they can nadir at almost any time. Lucian had that down to an art, anywhere between +2-+11.

 He got the label of being Predictably Unpredictable. You never knew what he was doing at any given time. There is no cat that will nadir at +6 constantly, there is always variants. A couple hours either way is normal and it can vary more than that. Keep in mind, everything is data and serves a purpose in the long run.
We all want our kitties at 80 all the time, but that is very rare, hang in there, you're doing fine. :thumbup
