I want to thank everyone for visiting Champ's condo over the last couple of days and expressing your concern and giving us so much support. It's meant the world to me. The helpless feeling you have when you can't get your beloved pet to eat is just awful!! There was actually one point where I was sitting on the kitchen floor surrounding by 7 or 8 different cat foods, tuna fish, chicken breast, crying because I couldn't get him to even try just one little taste. He's still not 100%, but I have the famotidine and, if necessary, the mirtazapine...and I'm not afraid to use them!!! The vet also gave me a large syringe in case it's necessary to syringe some food into him. Last night, Champ dropped down to 36 and, since he had already eaten two meals, he just wasn't interested in eating anything. He wouldn't even lick up some gravy. I just syringed some gravy into him and he had the most beautiful green surf last night!!! I never had to give him any more gravy after that one syringe feeding!!
This morning, even though I gave Champ his famotidine (did he really swallow it or will I find it somewhere on the floor later), he just wasn't interested in eating. I'm not bothering with pill pockets because he's not interested enough in eating to make those useful. He licked all the sauce off some FF Turkey Florentine so at least that's in him. I'll probably have to syringe some pureed food into him later this morning if I can't convince him he can eat on his own. He did both numbers in the LB and everything looked perfectly normal so at least I know he's not clogged up.
I hope to visit condos later this morning/early afternoon. I only got about two hours of sleep last night because I got so behind on my work yesterday with trying to get Champ to eat yesterday morning and then the unplanned vet visit.
I sure hope everyone has a great day!!! You're true friends and I appreciate every single one of you!!!
