Hope everyone had a good weekend!

We’re up to 4.5 units today. I’ll see where this dose gets him!

We also have an appointment with a new internist on Friday. An ultrasound is on the table, so will need to fast him for it. They’ve told me 1/2 the food and 1/2 the dose beforehand and our appointment is at 9am, meal time being 7am. For those that have had an ultrasound before for their diabetic kitties, does this track?

Safe surfing 🤗

Good luck with the increase, Briana and Binx!
Hoping the new vet is good and will be very helpful.
I suggest using the question mark drop-down prefix and putting a question in your title (and maybe even a separate post in Main Health) for answers to the ultrasound guidelines question.

For our ultrasound, his appointment was for 7am and his shot time is 9am. I didn't feed him after his last meal the night before at around 12:30am.

I planned to give him his regular shot at 9am, but decided to completely skip because he was still pretty out of it from the sedation. Is Binx going to have to be sedated? They gave Xander Dexdormitor and something else I believe. Even though its reversible, he was pretty tired and not himself and didn't eat anything until about 1pm.

Good luck with the appointment!

Thanks, Staci 🤗 Great idea too! I'll post in the main health forum tomorrow :)

Ah! Thanks, Albert! That's helpful to know.

We haven't discussed logistics yet, because it's technically not a planned ultrasound appointment. Binx is pretty chill, but I wonder if even chill cats need sedation for something like that. I'm going to call them ahead of the appointment and see if I can get any additional info.
