Rocket's update. At the ER they checked his renal values and had improved from 2 days prior. It was a tough night for me and for him....but somehow we got thru. That said...when it rains it pours....Comet (the dog) was sick throwing up roughly at 6ish this morning....so my attention had to be divided between Rocket and Comet....
After a couple of hrs trying to figure out what was wrong with Comet...and almost out the door to the ER again but this time with Comet....he decided he's had enough throwing up and drinking water (i was pretty close of giving him subqs)....he went to nap....so i watched two sick kids and then he perkped up....so no idea what happened there....hopefully it is nothing...
AMPS 295...gave full 4 u....+3 171, +5 117....waiting for the +7 to test....his appetite is not the greatest...fighting the syringe and not wanting to have much to do with food.....all meds in place until the next round....
Can someone update FDMB?
I know there are people there who want to know how Rocket is doing....
I'm pretty tired managing cat naps myself and sleeping on the floor next to my sick kids....by that i mean Rocket and Comet....
Rocket is more alert and has stopped peeing himself.....that said i dont' knwo how to get rid of the bad pee smell off of him....he is long hair...any tips are welcomed...
prayers are still needed....
found some blood on his poo this am....not sure if it's from them testing his temp last night or if it's related to what's going on with him
off to try to get a few mins sleep....
these kids are gonna do me in.....

thanks MJ for posting on my behalf...
Rocket's appy has been less than stellar today....syringe feeding has been impossible...but i do get food in his tummy somehow...
he threw up clear liquid and some muddy looking stuff....with all the meds in his tummy i guess the pepcid he got at amps time did not do the trick...i gave it again at his +9....hopefully it will tie him over until the next pepcid dose of tomorrow at amps time....
Comet got into Rocket's food...in my state of mind i left Rocket's food on the floor and lo and behold....Comet got to it....and since it has aluminum hydroxide and Comet has always had a sensitive tummy it pretty much made him throw up for a couple of hours....
it has been a stressfull weekend to say the least....i thought i would enjoy it and get caught up on my already lack of sleep...but that did not happen...i'm not complaining....i just want to be ok so i get to take care of Rocket a bit better....
it is warm here today...he is finally on the balcony...i syringe feed him at +10.5 some FF.....
i've tried to get the smell of pee off of him...but doing the wet towel thing has not worked....DH is out at Petsmart and doing grocery shopping so we'll see what he finds for Rocket....
moving his meds and insulin time around in preparation for when i go back to work on Tuesday (tomorrow is a long weekend here)....and trust me...it has become quite challenging....
hopefully he won't throw up further...
thank you for keeping Rocket in your prayers....you have no idea how much this means to me....i sometimes feel i'm falling apart....but your thoughts, prayers,healing vines...anything you have for us are keeping me going....much appreciated....
praying for Sara and Simon and Moonie....sorry if i've missed any kitties...i do pray for all kitties that are having challenges just like my beloved Rocket....

Poor little Comet and poor you, dealing with Comet on top of everything going on with Rocket. At least you figured out what had happened with Comet and he is doing better. Thankful that tomorrow is another day off. You will need it to get your strength back in order to go back to work. Do you have any sick leave accumulated yet? If Rocket is still not feeling well, maybe you can call in sick? After all, people call out with sick kids all the time.
