With the added pain meds on board Tucker is doing great. The hospital told me to feed any time he is looking for food, and of course when his insulin is due. It's 9:30am here and he's finished his second Fancy Feast, had several litter tray visits, sat in a window watching birds, knocked over then chewed open a new box of Fancy Feast and is now having a very big bath. The visiting nurse said his vitals looked good yesterday, although she could still feel swelling and he was tender. I've booked an appointment with a new vet tomorrow afternoon for his full re-check. From everything I've heard and read, he's doing about as well as we could hope for at this point. Still negative ketones and his BG was in the yellow, so some improvement there too. Fingers still crossed but I actually slept in 2 and 3 hour blocks last night. I have to say my Fitbit sleep tracker had been going nuts at me the last couple of weeks! First the hypo nights and then this. Tuck is looking better but his mom looks like the walking dead!

Lol @ the walking dead comment :P

I’m really glad to hear that Tucker is doing so well despite the swelling and discomfort. It’s so great to hear about his appetite too!

I hope you’re able to get even more sleep in the days to come :)

That's a very good report overall on Tucker. Sorry he's still swollen and tender...I hope that will clear up soon.
Oh Tucker, you are a scallywag! But it's great to see he's up to mischief!
You must try and get some more sleep Patty!
I hope the vet visit goes well tomorrow and you like the new vet.

Patty, I doubt you look as bad as you think..in fact, you are an extraordinarily beautiful lady because the love shines right through and out of you. It's been a rough go, but you keep putting one foot in front of the other, that's true courage!
I do hope you can begin getting more rest as Tucker improves, and what good news that is. Thank you so much for keeping us posted, we love that little dickens.

Happy to hear Tucker continues to do well :) & that you are at least getting some blocks of sleep back!

Hope the vet visit goes really well today!!

I spoke to Patty last night.
Tucker is still doing well.
The new vet visit went well. He is starting to reduce the pain meds.
Tucker is being Tucker:joyful: and has been jumping up onto the counter tops again.
Appy excellent.
Yay!! Was just checking on Tucker, hadn't heard anything new since Monday. Thank you Bron for letting us know. Tucker has had too many adventures lately. I'm glad he's back to being Tucker. Give Patty our loves please.

Just came out of a few days of migraine to check in, I hope, Patty, that you are getting some sleep in!!! I know that walking dead feeling quite well, from the time spent post-DKA with Alice. But every time I saw my haggard face in the mirror I loved my reflection because I love Alice. And clearly you love Tucker very much too. Once you are able to sleep in 3-4 hours blocks you can start getting full restorative sleep cycles and it makes a huge difference! I hope Tucker is feeling even better today than yesterday. :bighug:
