She wouldn't eat this morning. I managed to get her to consume about 1 Tbsp FF/Pro plan with some chicken dust. Then we fought tooth and nail, literally, so I could get a pill pocket w/probiotics in her. I am in an absolutely foul mood - almost no sleep and my btb time was spent fighting with her over eating. I am not rational at all right now.

I cannot keep doing the +9 snack. I will be in a headline in the papers if I do. And no, she will not get up and eat from an autofeeder on her own.

She did eat about 1 1/2 tsp at her +9.

oh no.....

Well, I hope you can get caught up on some sleep this weekend! And hope Kasha starts eating a little better too!

Re: 7/30 Kasha AMPS 87

I wonder why Kasha girl won't eat! Could it be the antibiotics affecting her appetite? I think the dental will help if there's a problem with her teeth. Sleep deprivation is terrible expecially with a stressful job. Hang in there and hope you can catch up on some rest over the weekend.

Kasha not cool driving your Mama to the looney bin.
Will she eat if you just leave a plate out at night?

Re: 7/30 Kasha AMPS 87

Hi all.

No - I can't count on her to get up to eat... Occasionally she will, but then I'd have to get up to put the food away or she'll most likely be eating during the 2 hours preshot... She's usually in bed until about then, if she gets up at all.

I am so tired I feel hung over. I have a long day - leaving work at 1 to go to dentist... After dentist, taking car to get oil changed/tires rotated and meet my parents while that is going on. Somewhere, I have to pick up a new vial of insulin and get home in time to feed and shoot.

Kasha's drinking a lot. Well, more accurately, she is spending a lot of time going from one water bowl to another. But, here's the weird thing - very, very little water is disappearing. It's not like when she was hyperthyroid or when she has high BGs or a bladder infection - cuz then it was very noticeable how much water is missing... I'm wondering, and maybe I'm overthinking this but.. could it somehow feel good to her to have her mouth in the water bowl? I'm wondering if her mouth is bothering her and the cool water feels good or something. Maybe I'm way off... I hope her dental answers some of these questions.

I find these numbers very frustrating. When I stopped home before the dentist, she was 136 at +7.4... Why so high? Did she drop lower than I think and bounce? I don't understand.

I got a new vial of insulin today. As I estimate, the vial we were using was over 90 days old. So, I waited till a weekend so I could observe her with the new vial, in case that was causing any of the odd number fluctuations (but sometimes they were good!).

She wasn't into eating again. She ate a little over 1 Tbsp, then I forced about another 1/3rd down her, much to both of our dismay. Then I got some FF out of the fridge and she ate about another 1/2 Tbsp of that - which is odd, cuz usually she turns her nose up at cold food... which also makes me wonder if it feels good in her mouth. So, altogether, she ate nearly 2 Tbsp, which is good.

What was not good was the sneezing fit she had as she finished eating - she sneezed till her nose started to bleed. Not mucus - blood... I saw it happen as she sneezed so hard and then I was wiping blood off her face. Good thing blood doesn't freak me out, right? But, it did not seem to continue bleeding, but I could almost see the moment that blood vessel burst. Definitely less mucus with the A/B... but still drainage (clear) and the blood tonight.

My own dental went well... he says I'm clenching my teeth and might consider a night guard. I told him that I'm pretty sure most of the teeth clenching happens when I'm awake...

I noticed her going to the food bowl several times - which she hasn't been doing... so I guessed she was dropping... don't know if she went lower, cuz she'd been nibbling on and off for over 20+ min by the time I dragged myself off the couch to test her.

What is the deal with this? This again makes me wonder if the higher PMPS was some sort of bounce...

one of the things I tried to look at when Lucy started to get good numbers was to look at how many hours a day she is in great numbers, and how few hours a day she is higher (because mid-100's are not high, they're just a little bit higher than the rest of her numbers). If she is a bit higher for a couple of hours a day at shot time, it's not so bad. Kasha is green probably 18-20 hours a day, that's great! Can you just feel that pancreas healing?

I can't wait until her dental is over, I hope that will be the final push she needs.

Thanks Libby - I'll try to keep thinking that...

But I still just want to know why! Why does she go high(er) like that sometimes? I supposed I could test every hour of the day and never have the answer... So maybe I'll just try to catch on my sleep instead ;)

Krys, I'm sorry you and Kasha are going through such a rough patch. I hope she starts eating more and more each day and you find a nice, healthy rhythm. It's so stressful to want to help more and not know what to do. You are doing great. I hope you get some good rest tonight. :YMHUG:

you're going to drive yourself crazy with the why's. You should give yourself a break and try not to worry so much until the dental. Then I bet we'll see Kasha cruising those awesome numbers!
