Good morning,

Yesterday's condo

Yesterday
AMPS=169 (0.5u); +2=194; +9.5=187
PMPS=185 (0.5u); +2=230; +4=220; +6=211; +9.5=173

Today
AMPS=146 (0.5u); +2=167; +8=216
PMPS=232 (0.5u);

Lucy's appetite is particularly poor this morning. :sad:
She has only eaten about 2 table spoons, maybe not even.
And that's after a few "who's more persistent" games.

She didn't want to eat any of the Wellness varieties more than a couple of small balls, so I opened a totally different can, Nature's Variety Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Duck Formula.
I don't know the phosphorus value of this food, but getting some food in her is more important at the moment.
I haven't had to open a different brand of food for Lucy for a long time as I can usually get her to eat something out of Wellness.
I keep many different foods at home but don't really like to give new food to Lucy because she has sensitive stomach.
I picked NV Duck Formula because she used to eat Royal Canin Hypoallergenic vet food, and that was duck and she did well.
She ate it a little better than Wellness.

The Leukeran must be out of her system by now, and I don't think she's nauseated any more.
I think she just doesn't trust foods, and is afraid of eating.
She eats one food better than the others, and eat raw food treat I use to wrap Azodyl enthusiastically.
I think I'm going to give her Cypro (without Cerenia) after I come home from work, so she'll eat dinner.
It may make her remember the joy of eating.
At least today is cooler.

Sending vines to all in need.

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146

If you're having trouble getting her to eat, you could try sprinkling some Forti Flora on her food, and see if that works for her. I'm sending tons of good appy vibes your way. Try and have a good day.

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146

Thank you Angela.
Unfortunately, Lucy doesn't like FortiFlora. :cry:

She's now refusing NV Duck.
She took a couple licks of Wellness Chicken.
I'll keep trying.

This is very stressful.

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146;+2=167

Aw, I know how stressful it is when they won't eat. I wish I had ideas and other tricks for you to try. I do wonder if maybe she is a bit nauseous, even if she doesn't show all the classic signs. I've had it happen with Trix a few times...she doesn't really seem nauseous, but her appy does pick up after I give her the cerenia/pepcid combo. For her, the pepcid seems to do more than anything else.

Sending tons of prayers....eat Lucy!!

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146;+2=167

Hello Mariko and Miss Lucy, so sorry her appy is just not happy! Stopping by to check in on you guys. Sending Lucy good appt vines. I'm sending you a PM also.. give skitches to our little girl for me :)

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146;+2=167

Lucy ate just a little more of Wellness Chicken - maybe a table spoon.

She started purring right away when I petted her with the ZoomGroom.
Which makes me think that she's not in pain or nauseated - at least not enough to make her go anorexic.
So I don't know why she's not eating.
Maybe stress from being sick.

I'm going to get a +3, and then go to work.
I think the prednisolone will keep her safe, which is a bit ironic.
Today was the 5mg day (bigger dose).

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146;+2=167

I hope lil Lucy gets a happier appier soon. Sounds like she's thinking about it, at least. More ZoomGroom please!

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146;+2=167

aw, I'm sorry that Ms. Lucy is having some issues with her appy today. Glad that she purred for you....when they don't feel good even a little purr makes us happy, huh. Sending some appy vines to Lucy.

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146;+2=167;+8=216

I hope Lucy's appy is better this evening. It is frustrating when they don't want to eat. Will Lucy eat baby food? Sending hugs and prayers. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 7/3 Lucy AMPS=146;+2=167;+8=216

I'm so sorry to hear Lucy is not having a good appy :cry: . It's so frustrating when they don't want to eat, I wish they could talk sometimes! Many appy vines are being sent your way. Is Ginger feeling better today? I read she didn't want to eat yesterday much too so I am throwing some feel hungry vines her way too :YMSIGH: . I hope the cypro will spring some food joy into Lucy for you. Many hugs being sent to you, too :YMHUG: . I hope your work went well! :-D

Thank you everyone for your vines and well wishes.
Rachel - Thank you for asking about Ginger. She's eating very well today. :-D

Lucy's appy is still crappy this evening.
When I got home from work, she was hungry, so she ate a small amount left over Rayne Turkey when I offered.
So I thought her appetite was improving, but at dinner time she didn't want to eat much again.
At first, she ate a couple of small pea sized balls of Wellness Turkey, and didn't want anymore.
Then I offered Wellness Turkey&Salmon, and she ate a few small balls.
She stubbornly refused to eat anymore, so I ended up giving her cypro.
When I gave her the med wrapped in NV raw Pheasant, and she ate it happily. :roll:
Too bad I can't give her a lot of it.
I don't think her intestinal bacterial balance is good enough for raw diet.
Even with probiotic, she seems to have problem sustaining good bacteria.
Anyway, the cypro was 1.5hr ago, and she still isn't interested in food.
But she ate a small amount of Fancy Feast.
It has taken longer for cypro to kick in occasionally before, so I'll just wait for it to happen.
She hasn't eaten nearly enough today.......

I'm sorry to hear Lucy still isn't feeling well. My friends dog who had Leukeran was feeling off for quite a few days afterwards. Have you ever tried cooking the raw pheasant? Again, the friend whose dog was undergoing chemo normally couldn't have his normal raw while taking the chemo drugs, so she just pan fried it with a little water until it was cooked.

I hope the cypro does the job and she eats more later tonight. :YMHUG:

Sending Lucy eating vines. I hope Friday will be better from her.

Just taking Wendy's idea a bit further, I wonder if using butter will also add a little flavor or do you think butter is too rich for her?

Eat, Lucy, eat.
