7/27 brutus day3 +2 168 +8 97 pmps 167

We thought we were looking good yesterday with an 86 affter eating.but this mornings ambg of 231 is discouraging.gave 1 drop insulin.i suppose if his shed is empty he might keep going up.The 86 had to mean his pancreas was working for a bit, any chance it might kick in again?

I'm not an expert here, but I will keep my fingers crossed that all is well and Brutus's pancreas is ready to get going!

I've not reviewed your SS, but actually, some bobbling in the first few days is NORMAL, as the pancreas sputters around...

That's why it is a two week affair. But yellows... hmm. Let's see what the more experienced ppl think. Maybe he needs a few more days with a microdose.

Hi Steve....I looked at your ss and I think maybe Brutus needed a little more time on the .01 dose. He was only on for 2 days and it is my understanding that it is harder to go OTJ the second time so the pancreas might need a little more support. He must have a somewhat working pancreas to bring the numbers down to 86 but you don't want him to work too hard to do so.
I am sure with a little more time on insulin he will go OTJ soon. :mrgreen:

The numbers can be a little higher during an OTJ trial but I would say yellow is a little too high.

yikes! did you happen to retest that 231 in case it was a bad test? i only ask because brutus spent about a month on 0.1 unit and then those couple days at 0.01 unit. he sure looked like he was ready. have you introduced any new foods into his diet? does brutus go outside? any chance he's getting into anything he shouldn't be?

We did not retest the 231 but based on the 168 it was probably right.He does go out side every nite in our fenced back yard(he can't get out), and if he has a succesful hunt he will have a mouse or other creature for a snack.we have found "left overs" before and noticed his numbers were higher.so mabe.so we will try the .o1 for a while ans see if he comes back down.already a little better. He can't get into much, just plants and grass.so we will see...
