Went through STRESS for Tiger and us to keep him npo (nothing by mouth) after midnight as instructed.
Misinformation! The vet wanted him to have his usual routine of food and shot!!! *#@!***:banghead::blackeye::(o_O

Came home and got his shot and took it back to them. 4uS since he was at 86 this morning. They haven't given it to him yet as of this posting.

They did an ECG and found a slight abnormality in his heart-slightly more risk for going under anesthesia. But vet said she is sure his mouth is hurting and he needs the procedure. Paws crossed it goes well. I will update as we go along...

Oh gosh... I was hoping this was a Tiger update to say that he was finished and all was well! Waiting... waiting... :nailbiting:
 
The waiting for that call is always hard on us beans!! Hope you get that call soon saying "Tiger is all done and you can come pick him up in a few hours"! (the most wonderful sentence you'll hear all day today!)

Tiger is out of surgery, awake and in recovery as of a half hour ago. She removed all but his front teeth, including broken roots. His BP kept dropping and they adjusted the anesthesia accordingly. His ears were cleaned and look beautiful-eardrums intact.
We will get him back in about 2 hours:):):):):)

Oh I am so glad he’s ok! Sorry that he’ll be mostly gumming his FF from here on in but at least the teeth won’t be bothering the poor guy anymore. Big hugs to you, Kathy!

Thank you! Yes it will be much better for him. I will be sooo happy to have him back! The house has been very empty without his very large presence in it!!!

Does he still have his canine teeth? Make sure they don’t try to give you Metacam for pain. Way bad for kidneys with a black box warning on there regarding that.

They give an IV pain med that lasts 72 hours after. Don't know what. She said he would be "drunk happy". Small chance he will stand and stare in the corner:(
But we don't want pain anymore!!!!

So do I give him the dose he was on or reduce? I'm thinking hold it the same...
Don't have a BG yet-going to go test now

I see you shot! :-)

How's he doing? Budge recovered much faster from her dental. Was gobbling food within minutes of being home even though she could barely walk. Bandit was out of it for days. She's always been a slow responder.

I did shoot. He is getting better already. Ate a little baby food and a little food.

He is happy, purring, ate some 14% and able to get up and use the LB! Had his breakfast in the living room!

I started reading a book by Laurence Shames called "The Angels Share". The first character I met is named Darcy:bighug:

He is happy, purring, ate some 14% and able to get up and use the LB! Had his breakfast in the living room!
