Hmmm...pretty typical AMBG by Trix's standards, but not totally loving that "+3"...I'm used to seeing bigger drops and/or green here. I'm going to grab an extra test this evening to make sure this is one of those randome flukes.

She's also decided she's getting sick of Purina One chicken pate, so it's back to Fancy Feast now. My new plan with her fuds is to feed her one of the three flavors I've picked for her exclusively, and then when she tires of that falvor, rotate on to the next, rather than giving her various choices throughout one single day. Hopefully this way, when one of the old foods moves to the front of the rotation, it will seem like a new food all over again. Hopefully that will keep her finickiness to a minimum. So far so good, with the switch back to Fancy Feast. She continues to eat well, as long as I show her the plate.

My Dad's consult with the oncologist is set for Monday afternoon. We were over their house last night because DH, who can fix anything, is going to install the ice maker in their new fridge for them and he needed to get the specs. My Dad's attitude wasn't too bad...he's obviously depressed and I know there are going to be ups and downs, but we did get some laughs going, too. Hopefully we'll get some news from the oncologist that will create optimism. I know so many amazingly positive cancer success stories, and I think right now, the lack of information and not having a plan yet, on top of the diagnosis itself, makes things a million times more stressful. I think what gets my Dad the most is that he has made it nearly 82 years without hardly a health issue, and this - on top of being a scary diagnosis - suddenly made him feel "old", too. (I've always been able to brag about how "young" he is, despite his "real" age. I mean, he just retired from teaching at Penn when he turned 80!) Hopefully he will soon realize that not having any other health issues will prove that he's really young as we work through this.

I'm going to attempt pre-work workout...at this point, it will have to be pretty short, but it will get my blood moving a bit. Sending my prayers out to all of my amazing LL family....

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

Down a bit more trixie, 'k? Greens remember? Best talk with Mr P. Down you go - you can do it!

I like that food plan, hope it works for trixie. it must be hard to keep them interested when they can be so picky.

My best wishes for your dad. I hope that once he has a plan that his spirits will be escalated. I am sure they will. it's hard to deal with issues when there is no plan. It is such a scary Dx. Hugs to all there.

have a great day. I hope all goes well.

Hi guys .. Sounds like you have a good plan all figured out for miss trixie! I hope that she swings on down some today, maybe show off some pretty greens soon .. You and your family are still in my prayers .. ((hugs))

Hi Amy,
Your new feeding plan sounds good!
I hope it works.

Sending tons of prayers for your Dad.

I'm continuing to send prayers for your dad. Trixie is looking good. Her numbers are in the normal range. Yea for that.

Some things never change...kitties always keeping us on our toes!!!! Come on silly Trixie...eat your fuds and bring your numbers back down to the greens, K?! Still sending mega prayers for your father and family and you. It's got to be so frustrating as you all wait for Monday's appointment, a plan and more information. My heart goes out to you all.

thinking about you and your dad, amy. it helps to have a plan of action, both physically and mentally. especially for a person who is used to action, your dad may really benefit from getting out of "Don't Know What's Next" Land.

and Trixie, time to get back to business, little one! cat_pet_icon

You didn't think you could take the day off, did you, Ms. P? Back to work! Many, many vines for your dad and the consult on Monday. He just retired at 80? How many years was he at Penn?
Liz

Okay, Trixie, time to get down to work. That +3 just isn't good enough. Tell Mr. P to get it in gear!

I'm glad your dad found something to laugh at. That is truly good medicine. It is very hard for a man that has always been healthy to deal with a serious issue like this. However, perhaps his overall excellent health will play in his favor as he fights this. Sending many healing vines for him and more hugs for you! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Actually, he was only there for maybe 5 years??? I can't remember now, but teaching at Penn is what he did when he retired from working! He's an electrical engineer and spent most of his career working in "industry". He's the type of person who needs SOMETHING to keep busy...I inherited that trait.
