Yesterday http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=75595 started with a lovely low blue and ended ugly. It seemed like there was one curve instead of two for the day.

After going back to bed last night after the 5.5 test, Neko wanted to join us and was purring up a storm and kneading at the foot of the bed. Then Theo joined us at the head of the bed (sharing my pillow) and the two kitties happily co-existed until morning. This morning Neko has done a couple of deck patrols but is a bit anxious about food. There was a clatter in the kitchen and Neko had hopped up on the counter and was busily licking the empty (and rinsed) sour cream container that DH had used to make blueberry scones. Maybe only a couple of molecules of sour cream but the plastic smelled good! :lol: :oops:

looks like our kids are playing together today! hope the weather brightens up a bit soon! we'll be over 'your side' tomorrow. Nice to see Neko in those blue numbers again!

Sounds like Grayson's been sharing his secrets about getting into "shenanigans"! ...and into the cupboards...and into the Tupperware cannisters...and into the dog food...and into the egg noodles... :shock: :o :shock: Amazing how ambitious they can be!!! :lol:

My favourite kind of day, lots of nice low blues. From PMPS last night to this morning AMPS she dropped 333 points, and so far today her range is just 70 points. I'll take flat any day!

@Pip - nice to see Neko stay in the blues too. She started blue yesterday but didn't take long to zip up. Let's hope the forecast is right about the weather for your show over here.

@Libby - blue day for blueberry scones. It's DH's recipe and when he's back I'll see if I can get it from him. I think it was an online recipe. For DH's Christmas present this year I bought him a set of cooking classes - for the serious foodie. Best investment ever!

@Lu - so far Neko hasn't figured out how to get into cupboards (antijinx). But if I leave the cupboard open to the pasta, she is right there. We have been so much better about keeping clean counter tops lately! The sour cream container is now in the recycling bin. With her numbers generally lower, she isn't quite as food focused as she used to be, but she still comes running if I open the fridge door.

Wow, what a GREAT DAY for Neko! I agree, flat blues are beautiful! Greens still make me a little nervous, but I'm liking them more and more. :lol: Do you pronounce her name with a long e or a short e? We need a pronunciation guide in LL. :lol:

@Liz - long e. It's actually the Japanese word for cat. Not too original. There is a singer from just south of here (Washington state) named Neko Case http://www.nekocase.com/news/index.html and Neko was the name of a Japanese software application that came out in the early days of Unix X-windows software (dating myself here) that turned your cursor into a mouse with a cat chasing it when you moved it.

I named my cat "Chat" when I took French in high school. But we pronounced it the way midwesterners would pronounce it, not the way the French pronounce it. :lol: :lol:

Hi Wendy -what great numbers today. :-D :-D :cool: I too love the blue ones - they are great, safe, and just good all around. Mannie seems to feel his best when in the low blues.

Very cool on Neko's name - I too wondered what it meant. Somehow I really like that.

Funny on Theo sharing your pillow. My Elsa does that too, and she insists on pressing against my head... :roll:

what a really nice blue surf for Neko today. Her SS is looking better and better. I'm almost wondering, though, if just a little more insulin might bring her down more consistently into green numbers. It's been a while since she was in green on this dose.

Yumm....two of my favorite things...blueberries and scones!

At least she managed to hold onto the pinks. I tried upping the dose by .25 tonight and may or may not have done so. I was playing bubble wars with the syringe. If I didn't get it, I'll go up in the AM. I know I got at least 8.5 but there was a very tenacious bubble at the top.

@Liz - I got my first cat from someone who had called her Kat - I changed that. A lot of people here seem to have used variations on a theme!

@LIbby - the scone recipe is at http://allrecipes.com/recipe/grandm...ick Search&event10=1&e7=Recipe Search Results They are called Grandma Johnson's Scones. DH said to tell people that if you use fresh blueberries (which he did, 1 cup) they mush a bit when you are kneading the scones. Tasted fine to me! He also said to make two circles of the dough to cut the triangles from, otherwise the pieces are too long and pointy.

@Michelle - blues are nice numbers for an acro cat. I don't mind the odd green but a steady diet would be a bit unnerving with the acromegaly being unpredictable. Neko seems comfortable in low blues too. Sun finally showed up here too but things are still drying out.

@Marje - I like how the SS is showing more blues and flatter days. I had planned to up her dose yesterday AM but she gave me a PS of 128 and I chickened out. I might have upped it tonight, depending on that darn bubble. It seems that the BD syringes with the worst bubble issues also don't twist very well.

Thanks! for the recipe; I like that site a lot. Sounds yummy...too bad it's heading toward 3am or I might be tempted to bake them! :lol:
