On 6/30 I thought Oreos BS was high and I knew he got into the dog food. And I have only been checking him sporadically. Last time was in may. I just checked him and idk I have a feeling there’s more to this with him being at 340 tonight after eating his dinner which was FF tender beef pâté. I’m afraid he’s relapsed. :-( now what… should I wait a few more days? Maybe the dog food is still in his system?

First of all, the spreadsheet link says the file has been deleted. So might want to fix that first. I'd like to see a couple days of testing and see what is happening to his numbers over that time. Is the dog food under lock and key now? ;)

Hi. Anything change in June? Are his teeth good? Is he drinking and peeing more? When was his last dental? As Wendy said, track him fur a few days. Test 3-4 hours after he eats to see if the bg comes back down. Fingers and paws crossed he’s not coming out of remission.

Ya know my mind is going pretty good right now. I mean He’s sleeps a lot in the same little nook most day and night, it’s a new spot, he uses the litter eats and drinks seem Normal.. he’s 14. I’ll check his teeth. What should I be looking for? He’s never had dental work. Should I test before feeding too or just the 3-4 hours after?

That’s really good that he’s never needed a dental. Do you see a lot of tartar on his teeth? Do his gums look at all swollen? When was his last vet visit?

Tartar doesn’t look bad. Gums are not swollen. July 2021 and then a follow up a few weeks later. Oreo travels horribly. Extremely stressful for him and pee’s in the carrier. Although we use this vet for all 5 cats and the our two dogs he wasn’t knowledgeable with diabetes. He gave us fast acting insulin that gave us some scary drops to 30. I take Levimir and we started Oreo on that with the guidance of this site. I did share the spreadsheet sheets and this site to the vet for education purposes. He reviewed the spreadsheet and told me to keep doing what I’m doing. He was very happy to see us achieving remission. He haven’t been back to the vet with Oreo

When looking inside the mouth, also look for red lines on the gums beside the teeth. If he doesn't come down over the next day or two, I think a vet visit will be in order. To take a more detailed look in the mouth and get blood work.

Any particular blood work I should ask for?
