Thanks Kathy and everyone ...again
Everything is basically the same as yesterday today with the addition of some little ketone issues for Alex but hopefully my nose has done it's job again. I knew this was going to happen though so I was prepared and waiting. Alex not eating enough meant I had to lower his insulin by a lot. Then when I started adding food I started upping the insulin but I knew I'd get it wrong somewhere. And with Jackson so sick I can't be on top of Alex as often as I would otherwise so it's been difficult for me.
I discovered that Alex really likes catnip and giving him a little before meals makes him hungry. And very funny. Only thing is...he still doesn't want what's good for him. Only ff appetizers and Liv-a-littles so I have to syringe healthy stuff into him. I can't wait until he starts to eat normally again...he is so thin.
He is acting okay though. Did a full groom this morning which I was happy to see. And he was really happy to have me cut the pieces of fur that were clumpy with Karo off of him. Vanity is a good sign.Jackson is still in another world. He vomited once again at 5AM..he must have gotten himself a drink of water because that's all that came up basically. He was nauseous all night and couldn't seem to get comfortable. Today he's a little better but still very sleepy and obviously very weak but I've started to add Recovery to his baby food and he seemed to like the taste of that. But aside from going to the window once this morning he has been staying in one place and and has no interest in moving.
My poor babies. Whatever they got is really awful and when it goes away completely it better not ever come back. I wonder if i could have brought something strange in from being at the animal hospital every day...
anyway, that's what's new with us. sorry I'm rambling but I'm half asleep.
