Jake's BG is just bouncing something terrible. I'm afraid that the Hi I got last night was from the Clinicare I fed him yesterday. I got it from the vet to help give him more nutrition. I only gave him about 30 ml. Then this morning he was 84 so I gave no insulin. After Saturday when I couldn't get him above 34, I couldn't risk it when I am at work today and no one is home to watch him. On Saturday I'm pretty sure he had a seizure or something because he lost complete control of his bowels and would not stop pooping or peeing. Thankfully we were outside. Anything I fed him came right out the other end and this lasted for about 1-2 hours. That problem has subsided thankfully but he is still in a diaper because he tries to make it to the litter box but can't. Oh - but when I put a litter box next to him, he won't use it. So when I say he "tries to make it to the litter box," I mean the corner of my dining area where he has been peeing lately. For the past several days he has had a diaper on so it is saving my carpet!
I have not been able to discuss Sat episode with my vet yet because he is on vacation. I have talked to 2 other vets though - one who thinks Jake should be PTS and the other vet who told me we are "damned if we do and damned if we don't." Nothing at all helpful. Trying to treat a diabetic cat with liver failure is so hard. He needs food to heal his liver if it is going to heal at all, but too much food makes his BG shoot right up. Jake's spirits are still high. Yesterday he purred for about 15 minutes when we were outside. He didn't even mind the butt bath I gave him on the patio. Then he purred again when I checked his glucose. And, best of all, his gf Chocolate snuggled up with him in the cat bed and they laid together for a long time.

It is great read that despite all Jake is going through he still seems content. The purrs are such a good sign. I imagine that he so enjoyed being outside. I am sorry though to read about the other vets - unfortunate. I think you are doing great with all that you do for Jake. I know how tough it is. Many healing vines for Jake - I hope he has a good day today. You hang in there buddy! - we are all rooting for you!

Hi Jake - checking in on you & your Ma. Be good & give her a big kiss telling her how much you love her! We'll be talking agin soon.
Your buddy, Lanky
