Glad to see you made it over to Lantus Land!
When you've had your lowest dose, it's wise to check no later than +2 so you have a sense of what's going on. Just to be prepared, do you have any high carb food (e.g., Fancy Feast varieties with gravy -- grilled or marinated foods) in the house. If not, please pick some up very soon. We use these foods to steer numbers since they are high carb and can bring up low numbers easily and quickly.
I'd also encourage you to read the label of the M/D and you need to know this is a fairly high carb/medium carb food -- it's 14% carb. We typically feed under 10% as a low carb diet. There are lots of lower carb foods that are of far better quality (i.e., more muscle meat vs. by-products) than what's in the M/D. See
Janet & Binky's list for other options. Many of us feed Fancy Feast, Wellness, etc. You are paying premium prices for really poor quality food that is not good for a diabetic. And, I'd completely ditch the dry. It will cause all sorts of problems with BG numbers. Chances are you will see a big improvement in numbers by switching to a 5% carb food and getting rid of the dry.
Also, with any change in food, monitor carefully. Switching foods can cause a drop in numbers.
