Hi everyone ,I'm been really upset
As some of you know on 7-2 Friday night Tyler started vomiting all thru the night.
Took him to my vet Sat 6-3 gave him fluids and cerenia injection.
Sent home with cerenia tablets
Checked his BG that morning was 129
7-4- Sunday AMBG was 149
By 11:00 AM was looking to eat fed him his FF Pate kept it down
@+6 his BG was 67
7-4 PMBG was 81
Eating , grooming back to his old self
7-5 all good did not check his/BG
7-6 AMBG was 80
Felt fine all day and night
7-6 @+3.5 day time BG was 93
7-8 AMBG was 105. Starting to sneeze was clear and eyes tearing clear
@+6.5. 113
@+9. 171
Still eating ,drinking , peeing, pooping, grooming
7-8 @+6 BG was 100 Night cycle
Still sneezing I could hear he was stuffed up
7-9 Took him to my vet lungs were all clear, slight temp
Gave fluids and covenia long acting shot said it was good for 2 weeks
Still eating, drinking, peeing ,pooping ,grooming
Still sneezing and eyes tearing
7-10 My vet was not in today, the owner was
I called him and told him what was going on
Suggested Famciclovir antibiotic 125 mg give HALF A TABLET EVERY 8 HOURS
Then suggested Lysine, he had the soft chew ones , I asked him if there was sugar in them and he couldn't tell me so I didn't take them
7-10 AMBG 143
I just gave him 1/2 tablet of the Famciclovir
I'm thinking after the bout he had with the vomiting this might have brought on the URI?
I have no knowledge about Lysine
Don't know which brand to buy, soft chew or powder
I don't think Tyler will chew one
I'm just worried about coming out of remission
I assume his BG is higher because he doesn't feel well
I will not start insulin again, correct?
Other than sneezing and teary eyes he's still eating, peeing, popping, grooming
I can just hear he's conjested in his nose or whatever you want to call it
Any suggestions on what Lysine to buy, remember he won't chew the soft ones
Sorry I haven't been checking on all the kitties, I'm just so worried about Tyler
