Morning all, here's hoping for a blue day!

6/30 Templeton AMPS 493 +1 420 +2 464 +3 440 +4 440 +5 412 +6 529 +7 420 +8 592 +9 486 +10 538

After all those high numbers yesterday, we got a pink overnight and a blue this morning at +10!
Breakfast was two hours before his AM pre shot
AMPS 125 (151AT)

It was difficult to wait two hours for food, he was greatly displeased about an hour in. Screamed for about 45 minutes straight.
I immediately gave him food, which I'm now realizing was a mistake, huh? I was supposed to wait and retest? Crap.

For reference:

+2 79

+3 140

+4 135

+5 125

+6 129

+7 110

+8 129

+10 143

+12 234

Food was raw ribeye so won't his his system as fast as canned least
When was this? At +10, between then and AMPS or at AMPS?

And, the lower numbers he saw on 6/16 and last month was despite him being on the RC food? Just confirming that he was seeing greens on 3U despite eating HC.

Steak was prepped and given less than 30 seconds after his AMPS

Correct. His food notes are in a 2nd notebook and would take a sec to find, but yes, on RC dry and 14% wet.

As in, 100% was eating HC, but specific amounts are written down.

A little food every hour should keep him surfing.

If he drops below 50 bring out the HC and test every 20-30 mins till he is back above 50.
Roger that.
And MC when he hits 50s?
Also, is the solids in the can, or the gravy the higher carb content?
I always assumed the solids were, but the advice here is tsp of the gravy, so that changes everything I thought I knew.

This one rarely vomits. F. Had not seen it I would have figured it was Mocha who I worry about. I can’t figure out why. It was mostly liquid with a tiny bit of her breakfast. Now this is a few times she’s done it too. Maybe it’s the time of year. They are only 3 1/2 so groom a lot.

Hmm. Did she maybe gorge eat? Get a little too hungry so ate a bit faster than normal? Guess it could be shedding season?

Nope. They get raw and finish eating in a minute or two. Mocha who looks a lot like yours eats even faster. They both scream when I go into the kitchen until I put the food down. They are foodies like me. Never had cats like that before but never fed only wet or raw before either. So much for that eliminating vomiting and hairballs.

Already 79 @ 1+ (102AT)
After I tested him, a stabbing feeling of dread went through my entire body. Hope I don't regret this.

Lucky mom they love raw. Hopefully the puke is nothing, at least you're paying close attention.

I see 140 on your ss. What did you give at +1 if anything? Add it to your comments on your ss for future reference.

140 (174AT) at +3. Less dread now. But still,
"Always keep in mind that with low blood glucose and no symptoms, the BG you get is not as important as where it is headed. In other words, if you get a BG of 100 mg/dL or 5.6 mmol/L or less and there are still several hours or more before the insulin peaks, your need to watch your cat (and the numbers) carefully"

At +1 he got LC.
140 was 57 minutes after LC. His +2 of 79 was 51 minutes after LC.

He's wanting food more frequently since his blood sugar is lower. Ordinarily he eats like every 1 hr 45 minutes.

The human meter reads lower than the AT. They are closer if very high or very low though. In a human meter 59-80 or 100 is normal range so the 79 is good.

Totally normal to be hungrier in lower numbers. Max would usually be starving if he was in 30’s or 40’s. It’s scary at first. Before I was testing g my vet had me come for a BG test a couple times a week. When Max read 60 on his AT at around +8 I brought my meter to our next appointment. I was petrified but not my vet.

Yes, I have done over 300 readings using both the AT and a human meter. Oh I know we're good now. But hopefully it doesn't drop too much once since we are already so low this early.

That really must have been scary. And expensive as well.

And for our daily dose of cat cuteness, here is Templeton asking nicely for breakfast.
My goodness, Jester and Templeton could be twins! My guys tend to do the "I don't have enough energy to meow" stare. If that doesn't work they come up and sit on my chest staring into my eyes, one on each side. If that doesn't work they give up and lay around in the general vicinity so they can keep an eye on me. Then when I say the B word (breakfast) heads snap around and they lead me to the kitchen yelling all the way to make me hurry up.

We're at 125. Sorry to worry anyone with no update. We are playing right now. Amazing! I'll add a "?" to my title if he gets low.

Well I got my blues today!
I started out today absolutely terrified of going too low, but it turned out just fine.

79, 140, 135, 125, 129, 110, 129, 143

Now the question is, what to do for PM and am I going to be staying up all night?

He's due in about 75 minutes from now, that's 10:45pm PST as a refresher.
