We decided to wait until Tuesday to do the pancreatic ultrasound. My friend contacted me last night as I was going to bed, needing to talk because she had just had a death in the family. Instead of going to sleep at 10:00, we talked until almost midnight, which I had to get up at 11:50 anyways to give Taz his last meal before midnight (due to sedation).

At 11:50, Taz was already below 100, so I monitored/tested him for another hour to make sure he didn't drop too much (not quite sure when he nadirs lately). I stayed up until 1am, until I couldn't stay awake anymore. I was supposed to get up at 5am this morning, so we could be at the emergency vet at 7am.

As I was going to sleep (again), I woke my husband up and told him to turn off his alarm because I wasn't going to be able to make any important decisions on less than 4 hours of sleep. I didn't really want to put Taz through more stress so close to his last appointment (Wednesday) anyway. We figure that he's had the lumps since January, 4 more days won't really make a big difference. :(

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: How’s he behaving? Eating? Purring? Nothing will change between now and Wednesday.
It's kind of hard to tell. He's still eating, and hanging around his food bowl nonstop. But I think he's drinking a bit more water these last couple of days, which worries me because he started drinking a lot every time his pancreatitis was flaring up. Not to mention the vet palpitated his tummy, which I'm sure hurt him some. He purrs but not as much as I'd like. I thought maybe he was getting arthritic because he walks kind slowly in his backend (he's 14 and has been overweight his entire life) and he doesn't want to jump on the bed as much these days. But if he has a big mass pushing on his organs, I'm sure that affects the way he moves quite a bit. I had a huge ovarian cyst years ago and it was crushing my other organs and I got to the point where I wanted to die because of the pain.

He's been kind of off for the last two weeks. We had a thunderstorm which freaked him out, and my 3 year old neice was over at our house that day and the following day. He doesn't like most people, and especially kids (we were foster parents a couple of years ago), so that was a couple of days of high stress for him. I asked our vet if he thought the high fPLl was from the lump on his pancreas and if he thinks it's been high this entire time, or if it could be from recent stress and him trying to flare up. The vet didn't know.

I've been giving him half doses of bupe over the last couple of days to try to help if he's in pain. I don't know what else to do other than watch and pray. I don't know if he's so different that I would have noticed he's off though, without the xray and fPLl test. At this point, he may just be a grumpy old man and I'm obsessing over things that may not really be any different than normal.

Prayers hugs and love :bighug::bighug: sont feel bad. With cats we all know how hard it is to tell when they are sick or in pain till it's pretty bad. Cats are maskers of pain and sickness. You are doing as much as humanly possible. Hang in there it will get worked out. In the meantime nice +4:)

Thank you. ❤

Thank you. ❤

His numbers have been a lot lower lately. I'm scared if he's hurting, then the numbers will drop moreso when I give him pain medicine.
Itll be ok promise. If he does drop more you can handle it. Odds are he wont though. His numbers have been a lot better and that is awesome!! Take the good and try not to be scared and worried too much :bighug::bighug:
