Yesterday Neko decided to put her BLUE dress on! :-D

And naturally her liver had issues today with spending so much time in the blues. So we are back to Neko Classic - daytime bounce mode. She's still not getting PetDophilus which I thought might be contributing to raising her numbers during the day. Maybe it saved her from going pink? Who knows. The experiment will continue for a while. The original reason for adding it was because her poops were a little dry and I thought she needed some help processing the raw food. As evidenced by this morning's LB activity however, she's doing fine in that department. Civvie Theo (aka The Wild Thang - more later) still needs a little assist.

The warm days continue. Neko is currently stretched out in the kitchen in front of the fridge, getting a slight breeze from it. She heads out into the solarium for about 10-15 minutes, then gets too hot and has to come back in. Cools off, then back to the solarium. Heats up, back in again. In this weather she's a lot more active in the evenings.

OT: Last night we had a serious fright. I realized when I was doing Neko's +3 test that Theo was missing. He's always the first to be in position for test/treat. Scour the house, no Theo. He's an indoor cat and semi-feral. I've had him for a little over 2 years. I once took him out in a harness and he freaked his way out but was frozen in terror so got him back in. He hasn't been out since so doesn't know our yard. Last night he must have dashed out when we had the door open for one reason or another. Naturally it was dark at this point. So off DH and I go with flashlights in hand, trying to find him. I did see him several times, but his feral side kicked in and he ran away. At one point I managed to stretch out and he sniffed my finger, then hissed and ran. For the longest time I couldn't see him, but at one point in the neighbour's yard I heard a cat scream (like Neko does when Theo gets too familiar) followed by his whimper, so I knew he was around. Finally about two hours after we noticed him missing, I managed to find him and herd him to the front of the house where he dashed in the front door. Poor guy, heart pounding, breathing fast, but he did get over it after 1/2 hour. Beans took a while longer.
Happy Canada Day everyone!

Hi Wendy, hope Neko gets back to those nice blues. What a scare with Theo. So glad you got him back home. It so reminds me of Mags, as she was a feral or semi feral when I got her. She followed my other indoor kitty outside and then got frightened. I had the hardest time getting her home. You're right, those those feral instincts kick in right away. Scritches to Neko and Theo.

Hi Wendy,

Happy Canada day!

Poor Theo. I hope he's feeling better today after his big adventure. I adopted my civvie Jetzin as a tiny feral kitten - the feral stays in them just under the surface. I'm glad you got him in ok.

It sounds like Neko's temperature's bouncing along with her BG!

I hope Neko doesn't bounce too high today. Silly girl. You'd think she would just stay inside with it being so hot. I guess she really loves the solarium.

I'm so glad Theo is okay. That had to be really scary.

Hi Wendy!
Happy Canada Day! Are there celebrations near you? oh gosh, i hope no fireworks to scare Neko and Theo.

Happy Back Home Theo! nailbite_smile It's amazing how quickly they can sneak out if they really want to. I hope he's wised up and realized the fuds come easy at home and there are scritches.. lots of reasons to stay home!

Neko's really had a GREAT run .. during the day! Yahoo. Keep it down, little one.
have a great evening.

F L A T yellow end of day. It either means action or the cartridge might be toasty, it's day 45.

@Ann - Gotta wait a bit yet for more blues. They sure were lovely. I guess those feral instincts protect them from danger, but it was a couple or hours of worry last night. nailbite_smile Lots of scenarios going through my mind.

@Grace - Neko likes to bounce during the day, it's been her habit of late. Theo is better today, but I'm watching him like a hawk. He probably wants out again.

@Carla - It is silly of Neko to keep going back to the solarium. Downstairs is even cooler. I know she's hot but can't resist going "out". Last night was pretty scary, took a while to get to sleep.

@Mary - Nothing special on celebrations right near us, but there was a party in the afternoon at the harbor front. Lots of people wearing red shirts today and there will be fireworks. Not right near us, but with the mountains behind us the sound will carry to here. Darn black cat just sneaked out in the dark. I'm so happy he just stuck around. Part of me thinks he wants to find a cat whose friendlier than Neko. He's not her buddy.

@Liz - It was a nice long blues stretch, then she decided to join Zener on yellow. Theo was hiding in the wild bits near where I picked the huckleberries in the neighbours yard. Too wild even with a flashlight to see much. nailbite_smile indeed! Cool on the citizenship ceremony, that's one of the Canada Day highlights. Never been but seen it on TV. Great that your friends manage to get into that ceremony.

Wrong way, Neko!! She has the right idea....enjoy solarium, cool off, solarium, cool off.

ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile THEO! I'm so glad you caught him. How frightening! He must have been scared to death. Poor baby.

Happy Canada Day!

I hadn't realized both of your kitties didn't do the inside /outside ...
That's really scary.
I'm so hypervigilant about it, I drive my family crazy.
I'm so glad you were able to corral him back inside.

If Shadow ever got outside she would run and run and run in panic. She wouldn't come back to me... I just know it.

We just had a large moth land on my monitor which sent me over to post on your condo.
thanks for the gift Neko. shadow

And we've got the blues again. Fireworks have started. So far the cats aren't freaked. We've got a lot of door and windows open (with screens) and the smell of outside is keeping them occupied. I do love the new windows we got last fall. :-D There are a couple windows we can now open that we didn't used to.

@Marje - She's headed down now. It's night after all. She bounces during the daytime and drops at night 90% of the time. Crazy cat! The other crazy cat practically gave me a heart attack last night. Doesn't help having worked at a shelter and heard all about cats that get out that aren't used to it. So thankful he hung around.

@Rhiannon - It is confusing having only one cat allowed out. And the diabetic one. But the rules are only during the day, when I'm home and she's not diving. If she isn't allowed out, she pees on things to make her point, including our bed. It's our compromise. She doesn't actually go out much anymore and a lot of times she just hangs out on the deck. Plus I've always been able to shake a bag of food to get her running in.
@Shadow - Hope it tasted good!
