Vinnie has been really hungry and lethargic and this is the lowest I've ever seen him. I know it's technically not in hypo area but he tends to nadir at +4 or +5. How often should I be checking him? And should I be doing anything to get him up a bit higher?

Okay he's at 80 now so I'm feeling less panicked. Since it's up by 11 points, does that mean we're good? Should I continue monitoring every 15-20 minutes?

I’d get one more reading… once you clear 100 I think you can safely remove the 911
Just really watch him during nadir…. He may bounce really high but that’s better than low.

Thank you so much @Denver ! I'll test until we clear 100. One more question - I saw in the hypo sticky that I should lower his next dose. Is it only the next dose that gets lowered or do I lower it for a few cycles? I'm still trying to find his ideal dose.

By the protocol here he earned a .25u reduction in dose going forward from whatever he is on now unless there was an obvious reason he crashed (ie didn’t eat, vomited after eating, etc).

Thanks for clarifying and thank you again so much for being here to help!

You’re definitely welcome! Glad I could help.
These things can be scary - I had one myself with Magic last weekend and was a total wreck.
I saw your spreadsheet numbers from your scare. I'm glad Magic came through it and seeing the numbers is definitely helpful.

So Vinnie's dropped again. He's now at 79 which isn't horrible but it's going the wrong way so I will feed even higher carb food and keep testing...

Yeah, you’re going to unfortunately need to use high carb if he’s headed down again. Just remember it takes about 30 min for their effect to show.
